FYI
The Frig is scheduled to be on KNBR 680AM radio (Bay Area) today in the 8am hour (Pacific). This is a sports talk radio channel, but should still be cool. KNBR streams on the internet also.

Funny shit...Cain just said Neal spends his time riding his motorcycle and surfing the internet for "every bad thing someone says about him". You had to know that a guy "shopping" on youtube for a new lead singer, had to be dropping into sites like MR to see what all we whackos are saying about him and his band :shock:

Brief Recap (not to mention the story about Neal above)

Talked about Arnel and finding him on YouTube

Said Arnel's work visa got expedited because he sang Wheel in the Sky accapella (sp) for the immigration clerk.

Said he is a big baseball fan and likes to catch games when on tour whenever he can.

Said back in the day the band had a suite at Candlestick park for 49er games.

Neal is not into sports and did not recognize Brent Jones (former 49er tight end) backstage at Vegas show. Jones had presented Journey with a Bammy award years earlier.

Told a story about spilling coffee on OJ Simpsons Brunno Mali (sp) shoes at a 49ers game. Yes the imfamous shoes from the trial.

Talked about a new song (wouldn't give the title) that he thought would be great for a sports team to use as a theme.

Talked about being a regular guest on the show and premiering the first single on that show. (I guess radio play is good, even if it is on an AM sports station).

Not much else. Only a 15 minute interview with alot of sports talk in there.

Friga is a huge San Jose Sharks fan. He and I talked hockey a few times on tour last year.

IMO, I also could have done without the redone classics, but I don't think it will stop me from buying the package when it comes out.

So out of the 220 minute concert, they're cutting it down to 60 minutes. Thats terrible. They should sell the whole show in its entirety (minus the redo's).

Thats what I read in a couple of reviews on here and on the Official Website. Now that I think about it, given the songs they did, that has to be false. Nevertheless, I know for sure the show was more than 60 minutes. Even before the re-do's.

I didn't think so -- I thought I timed it at about 2hrs. 15 min., before the redos. Maybe altogether it seemed like 3 hrs. Also, my shirt probably caused problems with the lighting, hence they had to cut out a good portion.

The name of the song is "What It Takes To Win." Frig says that it is an "homage to sports" and that it was tough to get it on the record.

Only a 60 minute DVD? I hate it when bands don't put the whole show on a DVD. I just don't see the point. It's not like they can only fit 60 minutes on a standard DVD. Just fill it up. Not too happy about that.

Actually, I heard the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Golden State Warriors, and the St Louis Blues are excitedly negotiating with Journey for the rights to have it as their new theme song...... that Tom Petty song is getting old I guess. ....
