Robert Plant-change of heart?

Postby Angiekay » Sat Mar 29, 2008 12:00 am

What a tease...first no, then maybe, then absolutely now, now maybe....

Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant said that the legendary British band could perform together again under the right circumstances, according to Gigwise.com. When asked whether the group's first performance in nearly two decades, at a one-off charity event in London last December, had hurt the chances of a tour, Plant remarked, "No, not at all. I really enjoyed it. And hopefully, one day, we could do it again for another really, really good reason."

This tour was basically a done deal a long time ago. They're just drumming up publicity...and doing a rather nice job of it!!!

I remain 100% convinced a tour of some kind will happen sometime within the next twelve months.

Hmm.... let's see... the band members were offered $200-million each to take Led Zeppelin back on tour... I'd say that's "another really, really good reason."

Hey, you never know. ABBA turned down one billion dollars...yes, one billion dollars for a reunion tour.

that would be a really really good reason for you & i & a lot of bands, but i think led zeppelin already has so much $$, that $200 million each isn't that much of an incentive to them.

Plan't net worth is $67 million, and Page is hovering around the $45 million level - to say nothing of Jones.

So no, the $200 million guaranteed would be a very compelling reason to make it work.

And it will.

He's crazy if he doesn't do it. If nothing else, the size of the money should tell him the fan support waiting for him. Get some backup singers to help with some of the tougher vocal parts, and there are quite a few, but he could do it.

i wish they would just get on with it...
There comes a point where you've heard all the reasons to do it and all the reasons why not...

I'd love to see Zepplin and i think they're all still great performers but all this flaffing around just gets on my nerves..

I just read that they're not even planning to release the show on DVD now. :?

Led Zeppelin are to disappoint fans by not releasing a DVD or CD of their one-off comeback concert.

Thousands of music lovers who could not get tickets for their O2 gig in December had been hoping they could watch or listen at home.

But guitarist Jimmy Page said: "It was recorded - but we didn't go in with the express purpose of making a DVD to come out at Christmas, or whatever." Page said a future release "at some distant point" was remotely possible.

Just media spin from a British tabloid. Note that Page's comments are paraphrased.

The O2 show will be released eventually, just as sure as the tour will happen eventually...

18 minutes away from the onsale time for Plant and Krauss here in San Diego in June. Something to hold me over until the Zep tour.

They're playing at Humphrey's By The Bay, an awesome 1,200-seat waterfront venue. Guaranteed to sell out in seconds.

Wish me luck!

Agreed...and not just publicity for the Zep tour, I think he wants to generate more buzz for his project with Alison Kraus. If the public thinks no ZEP tour, they're SURE to come out in droves for this...or perhaps he doesn't want to upstage that project with Zeps sizeable shadow.

The way I read this, nothingmakes me think he is talking about a tour. It does not sound like he has changed his mind at all. He said the "one-off" was a great thing and hopefully we can do it again sometime.

maybe plant's voice can't withstand the rigors of a long tour singing zep material.
