OT: Good Reason To Not Shop At Circuit City!

This guy sounds a hell of a lot more calm than I ever would have, in his youtube video, describing the complete INCOMPETENCE of Circuit City! Unreal!

Its a shame but many businesses nowadays do inferior work, especially car stereo places, its very common in that industry that only 1 person in the garage has any type of training to put electronics into your vehicle the rest of the people in the garage are learning by trial and error. the average person in a car stereo outfit is about 19- 20 yrs old, how much experience is he going to have at that age.

Make sure you ask to see all of there certifications and or licences to be working on your car, by law they are supposed to be able to show you this when you request it

Didn't need this as a reason..made up my own mind years ago..like night and day for so many reasons in comparing them to Bestbuy. Years ago we got the first one in town..went a couple of months later after they opened. Haven't stopped into once since.
Completely different experience then Bestbuy..from pusing sales people who were on comission, prices, and idiots.

Years ago I bought an E Machine from Circuit City. It was my first computer and I didn't need anything fancy and it got the job done. After a year, maybe two, I brought it in to our engineer here at work for him to look at something funky that was going on with it. When he opened it up, there was a sticker inside that said, "BEST BUY"

WTF?

This guy should have a nice, tidy, little lawsuit on his schedule.

They dicker more than at Best Buy because they work on commission. I can't get as good of a deal at Best Buy as Circuit City.

How could they do damage worth more than the sticker price for the car?

My hubby has a 2006 Honda Civic SI and paid a little over $20K for it. Very nice cars it's sad that CC totally
trashed someone's car. I know not to take anything I value to them.

When I had a Circuit City install my new door speakers on my Trailblazer about 2 years ago, they guy pryed off my door panels with a screwdriver or something. I didn't notice until the way home when the door panel was rattling like hell. I finally pulled over and looked closely at it, and noticed the bezel around my inside door handle wasn't properly reinstalled. They're basically snap-on, so I snapped it in and got back in the car and closed the door and it snapped back out. So I repeated that process, and again it popped out. So I took the thing off completely, and saw that 2 of the 4 snap prongs were busted. I was pissed because it was a new vehicle, but didn't want to turn back around in traffic to go back, so I left it.

I got home and noticed that my passenger door looked a little awkward.... Sure enough that bezel was fucked and had 3 of the 4 snap prongs busted, BUT... There was a funky black glue holding the last prong in place. It was the same black glue the installer guy was using when they put in the front seperate tweeters. I then looked at the back 2 doors and they were both broken as well with one of them ALSO being "repaired" by the black glue.

I was immediately on the phone with Circuit City management and they guy was nice, but wanted to know why I thought his guy did it. We went back and forth about it being a BRAND NEW vehicle and then I remembered the small "repair" the install guy made and told the manager I could PROVE it was his guy and explained why.

The manager got quiet and I told him I was going to go down to the Dealer and order 4 new bezels, and then send them the invoice and they WILL pay it. He had no ground to stand on, so he agreed.

I got the new bezels and was on my way back up to that area, so I figured I'd drop the old ones off instead of mailing the invoice. I walked in the store and saw the installer guy standing there. He just glared at me. I then got the manager over and showed him the bezels, the repair jobs AND went to my truck to show him the FUCKED reinstall of my door panels, which I had to redo MYSELF just to get the bezels to snap in place. The reinstall was off by just a hair and the install guy only reinstalled half the screws in the door panel on one side because the others didn't seem to fit. In turn, there were 3 screws holding my door panel on instead of the 6-7. The manager looked the bezels over, the install guy squirmed and finally admitted to trying to repair them. CC cut me a check for the invoice amount and also gave me a Gift Certificate for the store for $50 8) I haven't seen the install guy since either....

You have to remember what dealerships charge to work on your vehicle, let alone the parts...
