I have the 3 studio albums that Turner did with Rainbow, the studio album he did with Malmsteen, a couple of his solo albums, the first Mothers Army CD, Deep Purple's Slave And Masters album (my favorite DP album) and one of his Fandango CD's.

I would love to get all of the albums of his that I don't have, but I haven't been able to spend the money to get them yet.

One of the things I love about JLT's singing is that it reminds me a lot of Jimi Jamison, Lou Gramm and Paul Rodgers.

I have a rather vast collection of JLT stuff. When I saw him once in NJ (many years ago), I brought a stack of CD inserts with me in hopes of getting him to sign some of them. I wanted to find out which project(s) he was most proud of, so I asked him to look through them and sign only those. He was amazed at everything that I had brought (which was quite impressive already), until I started mentioning the other stuff that I hadn't brought. He was so overwhelmed, that he signed and personalized everything, gave me a huge hug and a kiss and told me how happy I made him! I think the best part were his comments about each item as he signed them. The last items that I brought to him (at a show a couple of months ago) was the 'Brazen Abbot' stuff that he was on. While I was waiting on line, one of his people asked to see what I wanted signed and she moved me up to the front of the line when she saw it.

I almost have all of my stuff signed now, so I think I need a few more shows of his to finish them off. Trouble is that the man is always busy and keeps putting out more and more stuff annually! I can't keep up! [I told him that between him and Jeff Scott Soto, they could make a girl go broke! He loved that and said "Jeff is my man!" ] Oh, well, I think I can deal with a lifetime of music and shows from Joe. Next up: I'm bringing along the 'Nostradamus' project!

JLT woulda been fine - Rainbow did a great album called "Difficult To Cure" with a great single called "I Surrender" - its not too far away from Journey and if Rainbow had been promoted properly in the states, they woulda been massive.

Nothing but respect for Mr. Turner. I've seen him a few times and he rocks. The man also knows how to play the role of a "rockstar." "Strret Of Dreams" would have been a HUGE hit with the Journey musicians and name added to it. Bad ass song, nonetheless. JLT is a cool motherfucker.

Do you have his solo album "Rescue You"? Awesome album. My other favorites with him are Malmsteen's "Odyssey" and Rainbow's "Straight Between the Eyes" and "Bent Out of Shape".

Rescue You is a brilliant album! NIG I remember we talked about it some time back and I have since bought the whole thing mainly from hearing Endlessly which is a killer track. But there really isn't a bad song on there. The other ones you mention are among my favourites as well, especially Bent Out of Shape. I am heavily into his newer albums Usual Suspects and Second Hand Life at the moment. It actually seems to me that his voice has regained a lot of strength from his youth these recent years as his voice on these albums in my opinion is better than on HTP Project for instance.
