Who would have thought at this time of the season that Florida would be the only SEC team left in either tournament...just shows you how powerful the mighty Gators are....

This is actuallt the first time since 98 we werent in the Big Dance. But I know we'll be back next season and in the meantime the NIT keeps us playing. And we are doing great(hope I didnt jinx us). The only SEC team left in post season play....

No, Washington State would rather lose in the Sweet 16 in the Real Tournament than win the JV tournament.

Well we made the Sweet 16 and the only other SEC school to do so was Tennessee who got waxed. And oh yeah, we were a third place team.

Like I said, enjoy that JV tournament.

No way Florida could beat WSU...Not a living chance in Hell.

PS- with 3 returning starters next year, I would say we are a better team and maybe a better program now.

we wont be bottom tier much longer. This Gator team is full of freshmen, VERY talented freshmen who needs to grow up. Plus we have another top 3 signing class coming in for next bb season sooooooo...maybe we'll meet up with WSU along the way and settle this argument. I for one think we'll do to them what we did to Arizona ST last week.

Deano, I don't know you like you know everyone else, but as someone who enjoys your posts, cruises the forum pretty often, but just doesn't write too much, I have to admit that while I was watching the Wash St. game the other night, the first thing I thought was, "Damn, Deano can't be happy."

I am more proud than ever to be a Gator fan. Yeah, we fell short tonight in our quest for ANOTHER championship but at least its April and we were still playing and the team played their hearts out in this tourney. And our future is shining bright, we are going to be phenomenol next season. Unlike those poor Wazzu fans whose season has been over so long now that the jerseys are now packed away in a sea of cobwebs. Wow, what a 2008 it is gonna be for UF football and basketball...SCARY......

The Florida Gators, up 9 at half, promptly goes out and gets their asses handed to them by that vaunted Atlantic 10 powerhouse UMASS. The Minutemen throttled UF by 21 in the second half. Boy, that's phenomenal coaching.

Also, staying on topic of SEC Basketball, Ole Miss is getting waxed by that powerhouse Ohio State :roll:

First off if you really believe the SEC sucks then I question your college sports knowledge. This was a down season for the conference although several teams still made the big dance. Overall, the SEC has ruled in football for a very long time(6 National Championships since 1991)and between Florida and Kentucky we have done quite well in basketball over the years. Florida lost to UMass, thats not an embarassing thing. UMass has always been a basketball school, thats their claim to fame. Look over the last 15 years at their success record. They had all seniors and juniors playing compared to one lone junior on the Gators and everyone else freshies and sophs who played very little last year. What this adds up to for us is a very good team next year while others begin to fall. I am amazed that Ohio St beat Ole Miss, since normally OSU couldnt beat an SEC team even if they failed to show up. Heres my advice if you are a college football and basketball fan:Fear the Gators...be afraid,be very afraid....
