Seriously? I know the Meyers are from Ohio. They are really good people, his wife Shelley never meets a stranger! Thats cool as shit! Do you ever see him? Ive met him and had my pic taken with him. The kicker for us 2 years ago, the National Championship team was Chris Hetland. He is actually from this town I reside in currently and I have met him at the bar and drank a few beers with him a few times, even met him on the golf course once and joined in on his 3some. We talked about the Gators of course....

Nah, I never see Meyer but he's in the area once in awhile. The Ohio contigent of his family seem to be travelling more to Florida these days, than Meyer travelling to Ohio. I wonder why?

I'm not too friendly-close with his nephews, but I know them and see them frequently.

I actually taught one of his nephews how to play guitar. 8)

The Florida Gators, up 9 at half, promptly goes out and gets their asses handed to them by that vaunted Atlantic 10 powerhouse UMASS. The Minutemen throttled UF by 21 in the second half. Boy, that's phenomenal coaching.

Also, staying on topic of SEC Basketball, Ole Miss is getting waxed by that powerhouse Ohio State

Talk about your all time backfire eh Gatorboy?

SEC sucks ass.

First off if you really believe the SEC sucks then I question your college sports knowledge. This was a down season for the conference although several teams still made the big dance. Overall, the SEC has ruled in football for a very long time(6 National Championships since 1991)and between Florida and Kentucky we have done quite well in basketball over the years. Florida lost to UMass, thats not an embarassing thing. UMass has always been a basketball school, thats their claim to fame. Look over the last 15 years at their success record. They had all seniors and juniors playing compared to one lone junior on the Gators and everyone else freshies and sophs who played very little last year. What this adds up to for us is a very good team next year while others begin to fall. I am amazed that Ohio St beat Ole Miss, since normally OSU couldnt beat an SEC team even if they failed to show up. Heres my advice if you are a college football and basketball fan:Fear the Gators...be afraid,be very afraid....

Ohio State didn't have much problem with UF this year in bb. Was hoping they would play in the NIT finals...oh well.

Every night I say a prayer that somehow...some way...my Buckeyes will get another shot at the Gators in football. Yes, you heard that correctly.

Go Buckeyes!

First-who did have much trouble with UF this year in BBall???? Not much of an accomplishment there. Second-BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR BECAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT. Ohio State is 0 and 9 against the SEC and you pray for another shot at the Gators? Are you high? Remeber at the Buckeyes best they were supposed to spank Florida and what happened? 41-14. Nothing from your Heisman QB since. This statement about praying for another shot at UF is ridiculous considering the success against Florida, and the SEC!!! Believe me-the folks in the SEC PRAY for more title shots against OSU also, on a daily basis.....

A couple of things here...

1) I would put Ohio State's record, history, tradition, winning percentages, Heisman winners, etc. against UF's ANY DAY OF THE WEEK and TWICE ON SUNDAYS! Just becaust UF played better than OSU on ONE NIGHT in ONE GAME does not make UF superior. Get over yourselves please. If you want to drag stats into the debate...we certainly can. You will lose, btw. U of F is but a "pimple" on the ass of The Ohio State University Buckeyes from a historical point of view. You guys have had decent teams the past 10 -15 years or so and you think you are all that...nah.

2) Our Heisman winner has not had a CHANCE to prove himself YET. Stay tuned...he will.

3) You had better hope you don't have to play OSU again soon. And, feel free to come North to play in November once in awhile...that's how REAL MEN play football!

Pansy.

Florida quarterback Tebow wins Sullivan Award
April 1, 2008
CBSSports.com wire reports

NEW YORK -- Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow added another honor to his collection, winning the 78th James E. Sullivan Memorial Award on Tuesday.

The Florida quarterback, the first sophomore to win the Heisman, had 3,286 yards passing and 32 touchdowns last season. He also ran for 22 touchdowns, becoming the only player in NCAA history to have at least 20 TDs passing and 20 rushing.

The Sullivan Memorial Award is given annually to athletes who possess qualities of leadership, character, sportsmanship and ideals. It is named for the founder of the Amateur Athletic Union, James Sullivan.

Other finalists for this year's honor were Oklahoma gymnast Jonathan Horton, Michigan State hockey goalie Jeff Lerg, Virginia Tech softball pitcher Angela Tincher, and 61-year-old track and field athlete Philippa Raschker of Marietta, Ga.

Just "calling them like I see them". I'm just sick of the unearned arrogance of the Florida fans these days...where do you guys get off thinking you are so superior to LEGENDARY schools like Ohio State, Michigan, USC, etc.

NO WAY. Read the link below and then just try to come back.

I hear ya Tom, however, IMO, it's the here and now, not the was and then. Florida is stacked to be sure, but they aren't the end all of college sports. If he would just run his smack without creating thread after thread basically taunting us, well...

They did get rolled by Michigan in the bowl game and their basketball program took a liking to penis. The fact of the matter is They aren't champions right now.

I do admire dudes passion. Hell I am just as bad if not worse, but I don't create threads taunting the other 200 NCAA Division 1 schools and I definitely do not gloat over a third place PAC 10 finish.

Pansy.

8)

if you really believe that you need help. Everytime OSU gets a chance to redeem themselves against the SEC they blow it...again!!!! And when we played them it was in Arizona, a long way from Florida. Why do you have to namecall?

Just "calling them like I see them". I'm just sick of the unearned arrogance of the Florida fans these days...where do you guys get off thinking you are so superior to LEGENDARY schools like Ohio State, Michigan, USC, etc.

NO WAY. Read the link below and then just try to come back.

I do admire dudes passion. Hell I am just as bad if not worse, but I don't create threads taunting the other 200 NCAA Division 1 schools and I definitely do not gloat over a third place PAC 10 finish.

I know U of F is a good to great program right at the present. No denying that fact. I just am getting sick of the constant barrage of "Gators this...Gators that" ad nauseum.

I am a very passionate Buckeye, graduated from there, was in the marching band there (no giggles please) but, I don't push that on people in every post...don't need to. I think it gets annoying quite frankly.

There...I'll go back to my more "laid back" style and leave my Alma Mater out of things...

Yeah, thats all Ive got-THE FACTS. They hurt dont they? We lost in a close game to Michigan thanks to a very young defense but that will get corrected. How'd you guys do against LSU???? It looked painful for you, did the swelling finally go down? By the way, that list means nothing to me because of the cupcake conference/non conference schedule you guys have had for many years. If we played in your conference we would be invincible. So you know, UF is my alma mater and I give a lot of money each year to the school. My daughter is getting ready to enroll in one more year. My father and sisters graduated from there. I didnt play on the band but I did get a great education and had the time of my life. LOL, that game was nowhere NEAR as close as the score indicates.

Michigan shoved "You ( )" all over the field that day.

And that Ohio State team you're having fun kicking around manhandled Michigan the way Michigan manhandled "you ( )."

Ive already stated that we lost to Michigan, they played a lot better than us that day. I still dont think they are as talented as UF but they had more to play for. Kicked around? I hardly think so. Even though they completely outplayed us we could have still won the game, thats a fact. Do you have a problem with me referring myself and UF as US? After all the money that my family and I have spent there as well as the years we've invested there I think Ive earned the right to do that. You dont just have to be a football player for that priviledge. You are now coming off as an asshole with the little BS things you have to add to this topic. It started out innocent enough and now your being a complete dick. If you have an issue with me lets discuss it and leave MY UF out of it. I havent ever shy'd away from confrontation regardless of where Im at. Ive always posted with good terms with you in the past but now I'm starting to get pissed off. We can agree to disagree on the UF subject but you dont have to get personal with me.

Michigan was the better team in 2007 and they proved it head-to-head ON the field IN Florida's backyard.

Strictly speaking, Michigan slipped up. They could've won that game by 17-20 points.

And no, "you" are not a member of Florida's teams, just like I, though my dipolma reads from Penn State, and I played baseball there does not mean "I" am on their team.

I draw the line between fantasy and reality.

I refer to myself and the University of Florida as "we" and "us" for reasons Ive already explained above. I do NOT refer to myself and the football, basketball, or baseball team as "we" or "us". We are all University of Florida students, alumni, faculty, and fans, we all can refer to ourselves as "we" and "us". Thats how we roll and if you dont like it then who gives a tee total grocery bagged shit.

I'm just saying, fanboy, I think you needn't mention florida in every single solitary post as if tebow is reading this board and watching to make sure you do.

Like loons who do the same shit w/ perry like he's the Great Pumpkin who will pass them by if they don't pepper perry propoganda into every 1.73 posts.

You're a FloridaLoon.
Now please recover your temper.

Maybe I pour it on a little thick sometimes, hell I dont know. Im just a die-hard Gator. Proud no matter what. Im basically I really cool person just extreme over my life's passions. I dont see myself as a "fanboy", I see myself as part of the UF family. Thats why I use "us" and "we" a bunch. Believe it or not my dad was the same way, he would throw down with anyone who wanted to dis Florida to his face. I was raised a Gator and going to those games as a little ScarabGator back in the 70's and 80's with him was awesome. He was proud the day I started my UF education, unfortunatley he wouldnt live to see me finish. Anyway, if I offended anyone with the UF rants I apoligize.

I used to play trombone (Q-Row).

Was perhaps the finest organizaiton I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. I worked my arse off to make it into the band...made it as an "alternate" too. Had to fight my way into the regulars. What great memories for sure!

Enough of my yapping.

Once again, OS didnt lose to Florida because obviously they were the better team but because OS got "fat, dumb, and lazy", whatever-typical buckeye fan. Yeah, tressel has been to 3 NC games thanks to the weak schedule they play every year, which is why they made it last Jan only to lose to a team that was obviously better. The entire nation knows of the puny scheduling. Take your damn history, I'll take our recent history of just going out and winning and kicking the shit out of OS each chance we get.
Florida,IMO is second to none. I'm the loud mouth? I let it go on a previous post, your the one who had to throw in one more jab so fuck you.
Im glad your out, you lost! Goodbye.

Pansy.

if you really believe that you need help.

Beat someone, ANYONE in the SEC then come talking your "call em like I see em" bullshit.

That's all you got???

PS Did you read the lists at the link I listed? How'd you guys do against "mighty" Michigan, btw?? We did quite well, thank you.

I take UF very seriously and its my perogative to be as "rah-rah" as I want to be, if you dont like it really I dont care.

For the record (why do I even bother with this...it's just college football, not war), the Buckeyes were right there with LSU, statistically speaking...look them up. OSU just made too many stupid mistakes and got in a hole. It happens.

Since Tressel arrived in Columbus, Ohio State has been to THREE, count them THREE National Championships games. How many has UF been to in that span? We beat a loud-mouth, arrogant Miami team in 2002, lost to the Gators because we got fat, dumb, and lazy and understandably, took the Gators for granted...we lost...it's cool, and last year we took a team NOBODY thought would win the Big 10, let alone the NC and lost a very competitive, physical game in large part to our stupid play resulting in crucial penalties.

I can live with that. History is on MY SIDE too. TOSU is second to none, IMO but I don't have to get into "verbal shoving matches" all the time with loud-mouths like you to prove it.

I'm out. Fight with yourself...hope you lose.

Goodbye.

bahahahahaha, Gator, you slay me.
