I can understand the difficulty of Most, if not All Japanese to speak English. especially if English is only considered as an optional course and not really a priority nor is it second language to them. You can just imagine if you get lost in Tokyo without a single person knows how to speak and understand English and all of the billboards and others are written in Native Japanese text, You just wish you studied Japanese before you came to that place. :lol:

Many years ago I had some pen pals in Japan and it was my understanding that English was required.
