Jack Blades talks about Neal on Sirius Classic Rewind

Postby zino » Tue Apr 08, 2008 3:36 am

Jack Blades on was Classic Rewind last night and had about a 2 minute spot where he talked about Neal and his great guitar playing. Said how neal played from his soul which created all those great Journey songs we all know and love. I thought it was pretty cool. They then played Whos Cryin

I have always thought that a "post-journey" Perry - Schon collaboration would be fantastic.

Hell of an idea! Shit, I'd buy'em a beer or two if that's what it would take.

In a drunken moment I thought it would be great if Perry would co-write and/or produce the new Journey CD, but let Arnel sing lead. Perry could do a couple of songs that would fit his current voice. I know...it was definitely hard stuff that night. Having said that, his and Neal's song writing collaboration is the magic that has been missing.

Since that will never work...I'd go for the Schon/Perry CD.

Steve Perry
Neal Schon
Jon Cain/Gregg Rolie
Jack Blades
Deen Castronovo

....imagine the great music and insane harmonies that would come from a band like that.

I propose this line-up

Perry,Schon, and three young hungry unknowns.

This will insure that it is not Journey_vX and will inspire the two "seasoned" musicians to write like they haven't in years.
