OT - "Thats not actually a bad song"

Which songs have you heard and never liked, and then one day you really listened, and liked them?

Journey related ones are, "The Partys Overs" - never got this at first. Always used to skip over it. And the other one is "Out of harms way" on Generations. I'm telling you, this is a great, great song when you dont skip over it (much like most of the Generations album)

My other choice if Make a memory (?) on the latest Bon Jovi CD. Didnt like it on the record, but fell in love with it when I heard it on the live DVD. Also the version of "Livin On A Prayer" on the This Left Feels Right, Bon Jovi CD. Didnt get it at first, but they did an amazing job turning it into a dark song.

In the Journey camp it was "Frontiers", which I then wound up loving.

I'm NOT a Prince fan. Ever. Never will be. But he's done three songs that I wound up liking - When Doves Cry, Thieves in the Temple and Raspberry Beret. Now I like Little Red Corvette. And I can't stand Prince! Go figure.

Same with Madonna. Can't stand her. Blech! And then I hear "Don't Tell Me" and it's a really good song.

Then there's the ex Mrs. Federline. Yuck. Then just before her marriage and melt down (in that order), I hear "Toxic" and I love it.

All that just reminds me not to judge a song before I hear it!

It doesn't get any better than that. 25 million Germans can't be wrong.

Not quite as brilliant as Kirk Van Houten's "Can You Loan Me A Feeling" - but it's close.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Don was once asked if there was one song he'd wish he could unrecord, which would it be? He said, "So Many Tears" from Back For The Attack. WHAT?!?! That's a GREAT song!

That's funny that you say that-I've recently gotten into a little Prince myself. Did you know there is an EIGHT AND A HALF minute version of LRC on iTunes??? Good running song and that one song gets me through nearly a mile!!!!

Nights In White Satin - Moody Blues

Hated this song when I was young, now I think it's brilliant.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Yes, fucking great song played extremely loud. To me it's the pinnacle of the Augeri era.

No, it should have been "Baby I'm A Leavin' You" by Journey... LOL! I don't think the guy specified it had to be a Dokken tune.

But common knowledge lends reasoning that it should be a Dokken tune. :P
