I got to hear the new Asia CD Phoenix in it's entirity today all I can say is WOW

The guitar playing by Steve Howe (and no he was not the singer for Bad Company) at the end of the last song is remarkable ......

It sounds great. Been scavengering the internet looking for a preview copy. I am going to see them soon, so don't shoot me for trying to find an advance copy. Hoping to buy an autographed verison at the show! :D

The new cd is just great. I just love the song "Sleeping Giant." I can't wait to see the Chicago show April 20.

WOW is not the word I would use. How about BORING. No wait, I would use WOW - as in WOW was I disappointed.

Overall, I think it's a pretty good album. There are some sleepers in there, but it definitely classic Asia! My personal favorites are "Never Again" and "Parallel World/Vortex/Deya"

I haven't listened to it enough to give it a "definitive" review yet, but I think it's their best since the last "original lineup" release (Alpha). It's definitely nice to have Wetton and Howe back in the same band.

I ordered my copy today. Was going to wait a little longer, because I was not excited about Wetton coming back. I really liked the Payne era. But after listening to some boots from over the past couple of years, I decided Wetton deserved another chance. He has always been good on cd, but live I really didn't care for him, and thought some of his solo cds were below average. But what made me really decide to pick up the new Asia cd was Wetton/Downes ICON cd. Got it last Friday night off of I tunes, and have listened to it every day. The songs are great and Wetton's voice is back in top shape. So I am looking forward to picking it up-ERIC

I gotta say you're not going to find a bigger Asia fan around here than me. I've always wanted Wetton and the gang back in the fold even though I thought the Payne era material was fantastic. Needless to say, when I heard about Phoenix I started counting the days until it's release.

Track 1: Never Again-Awesome!

.....but after that song....I gotta say, I agree with Soloud...boring.

A couple of slower, more melodic songs would have been fine, but I expected a little more after all this time.

Where's a 'Ghost in the Mirror' when you need one?
