I disagree, as good as that sounds (awesome!!!!) I doubt anyone would ever think "is that new Journey?", however I've played some of the new Journey tunes for my peeps and it's an immediate "whoah...new Journey?!?".

But, to be fair, this was not a Journey song/record. They never gave JSS that chance to record -- or the fans to hear JSS in new Journey music (well, other than Winds of Freedom, which was more like a demo).

Winds Of Freedom was all i needed to hear to convince me even more that Jeff wasn't right. It was also a very piss poor song imo.

WOF was put together very quickly for that show in WV (4th of July?). Not indicative of what the JSS-fronted band could do at all.

Soul Sirkus ended very badly.

An absolutely horrendous album will usually "deep six" you. That album is pure shit. Absolute trash.

How is it trash? Four of the greatest virtuosos of their respective crafts churning out hard rock originals.

I liked the Soul Sirkus CD but for me, the production of the songs was HORRIBLE. It was like listening to a CD under water.

I also seen live what a JSS fronted Journey were like, and to honest i didn't like what i heard then either. All down to an individuals taste and in my opinion JSS was never right. I would have imagined Soul SirkUS part 2, and that was pure shit anyway. The most overhyped up bag of crap there has ever been.

C'mon, dude, use your fucking head a bit. Jeff and the main faction that had exposed "Tapegate" were close at the time. Journey knew this. They named him the "permanent" lead singer to sweep Tapegate under the rug, get the fans off their backs, and move forward amicably with all parties. That "permanent" press release alleviated all of their headaches. Did you expect them to say, "Hey guys, we're gonna bring in Jeff, salvage the tour, and then look for a new singer." Is that what you expected? Journey, for as dumb as everyone says they are, played that hand beautifully. The people that may have thought they had found their way into the "inner circle" were presented with a fake press release and fell for it hook, line and sinker. No one else in the world even knew about this "official" announcement. Advantage, Journey.

SJ, the "official" announcement naming Jeff (new) permanent lead singer was plastered on the front page of Journey's "official" website: www.journeymusic.com. Are you trying to say no one in the world saw(read) this?

Journey has always been very loyal to their frontmen. They waited for Perry for about 20 years too long before severing ties, and about 3 years too long with Augeri. Perry should have gotten bounced in about 1988 and Augeri in about 2004. I don't know the specifics of Arnel's contract completely, but if he lost his voice for more than a few months I would expect him to get bounced too.

Loyal to there frontmen???? get real. Being loyal is takin a break maybe once in 8 years so a singer can heal when sick. What do you think they would do if Neal or queen broke there hand or fingers?? Come to think of it they would probalblly do the same??

Did they announce Soto as the official lead singer before or after they did the European tour in 2006/2007? If they did so beforehand, perhaps it was to get him to stay in the band long enough to use his services to complete the European dates.

You may have got something there, Dave. I remember Jeff being named their permanent lead singer with much fanfare on their official website (around Nov-Dec 2006). Then, followed press releases announcing forthcoming extra extended European dates "Journey is returning with their new lead singer, Jeff Scott Soto." They must know Jeff is popular in Europe.

I doubt you've ever actually tried Danger Danger, Ted Poley, or even 5% of the bands featured on this website. Probably won't hurt too much to try them sometime. Just because they don't sell platinum records and have chart-topping hit singles, doesn't mean they're bad bands at all.
