I'll risk the Aussie Bossy slapping me silly here but Behshad Sir you do
have a flame like recent past and stirred the settled stew in this here thread.
Besides didn't Gator just get back from Holidays?

Did you even consider that maybe Jeremey's exciting present endeavours would be a might
bit closer to his located life?

that Frontiers might possibly make it's way out West like say San Diego?

I was the one with the abusive words,,, I admit it and i dont regret it,,,,, however if I was the was causing the trouble, lets look at your rule of board , posted stickin on top of all posts :

So....from this point forward, if people cannot control themselves, I want any person with a problem to PM ME ONLY. I do not want anyone to react negatively to a post....I want a PM please.
Then I will deal with problem.

If any person decides there is a problem and does not use the PM function and takes on the problem themselves, then they will get a 1 week holiday.
The person that caused the problem will also get a 1 week holiday.

So what your rule says, Scarab, shouldve taken this to a PM with you and let you deal with it , instead of attacking me back, correct?
Which means the person who caused a problem (ME) and the person who took things in their own hand (Scarab) should both get one week.

THATS why I thought it was unfair to aim anything and everything at me...

Besides,,, who are you kiddin,, both you and I know, you were happy that the watter got muddy,,, this way my MAIN QUESTION went unanswered.,....

And Moonie,,, if youre suggesting that Jeremey is just gonna do few shows around his home base, then what has changed compared to the past,,, I was under the impression that his band will tour the entire country now and then some,,,,,, nice try though....

Thanks to everyone who has wished me well!

Just to steer a little back on topic here...

It turns out that the "meeting" I had yesterday had nothing to do with what I thought - RE the company realizing I was about to resign, etc...Ironically, I was met by my boss yesterday with an official letter stating that there was a work force reduction across the system, and that my position had been eliminated!! I had seen this coming the first few months of this year, which was why I set my plan in motion - My "escape" - way back then....

I had already cleaned out my company car and brought an empty box with me to clean out my desk, and my boss was very confused...He was like, "Boy, you seem pretty prepared for this," etc...Finally he offered to take me home and I told him my wife was waiting out in the parking lot for me...By that time his head was spining...He says "I guess you saw this coming, huh?" I said "Man, I can't thank you enough...I was going to resign next Monday, but as it turns out, you just made me eligible for 6 months unemployment!" Truly one of the great moments in my life. Sabrina and I celebrated with lunch at Abuelo's.

Unfortunately I'm too busy to enjoy my "unemployment" as I had to leave immediately from lunch to track vocals for a project for 3 hours, then rehearsed with the new Frontiers guys from 6 PM until 10 again (when the cops came by and told us to stop...Funny because we are practicing with all in ear monitors so all anyone could hear was Ron's ferocious slamming...He is playing a Phantom snare right now (the same one as Steve Smith uses), and it's 38 lbs of solid carbon steel....It makes quite the racket)...

Anyway, sorry this thread had to turn negative, I'll fill in a few answers where I can...

Very cool post Jeremey! Gives hope to us still plodding along. So, if you're going to tour, is it touring as the Journey Tribute and an origianal thing or are you guys doing your complete own thing? I see in the post you're saying writing, etc. Did you guys get signed or what exactly? I might've missed the other posts regarding this. Exciting! In my opinion, it's much cooler that you'll be able to do your own thing rather than someone else's.

Frontiers is what we are touring as. I'm writing individually right now with a few other collaborators, which would be impossible if I had to continue working 60 hours a week! :P

With all due respect, I do have few questions for you though. 8) If I remember correctly, the main reason you turned down Journey , was because of family. You said more than once, even in your blog , that the main reason you didnt continue your adventures with Journey was because you thought it'd be hard on your wife and child. What has changed to the point where you settle for touring with your band for less money ? I think many of us would want to know , cause I bet you 9 out of 10 here wouldve chosen more money and touring with Journey? Is it cause you didnt think long term you could get along with Journey and its management ? Is it because you think you rather promote your OWN band?(In which case I think its about time you start writing your own material and change direction to a band of your own). Care to educate us? Thanks.

Thanks for the questions!

The difference is that I would be tied into the Journey corporation...As in, <best zombie voice> "come join us....come join us....leave your world....come join ours...."

Not very condusive to a family. Plus, the tour being discussed at the time was a 9 month endeavor starting in Feb 08 and ending in November with Carlos Santana. I know you have kids Behshad, so imagine kissing your first born child goodby at the age of 6 months, and then seeing them again when they were 18 months old. Imagine all of the things you would miss out on...First words, first steps, first birthdays, etc etc...If you had your 3rd or 4th child at this point, maybe it would be easier to say goodbye and come back in 9 months...But the experience of a first child is truly one of the reasons we are put on this earth to live this life, and it wasn't something I wanted to take for granted. If nine out of ten people here would have sold out that experience for a few hundred thousand dollars, then that's a true shame, and maybe says something to the state of the world we live in.

There's a big difference when your job as is mine now - a musician/entertainer - involves travelling 3-4 days a week...The next logical career step in my for sales would have either been a national account executive or a regional manager. Those guys travel 5 days a week and most of the time spend weekends tied down to their laptop. Ironically the career I'm stepping into now offers more time with my family and more security.

Hope that answers your questions.

I think that situation with your work is awesome! What an added benefit to now be able to collect unemployment for a while! I'm not a musician, but every musician I know would love to be able to make a living off of their passion. I wish you all the best!

When I began working on this idea with my agent back in March I had no idea when Rev. would be released....We just picked June as a good target month to start filling in the schedule....the timing of the release was a happy coincidence. I don't know when the royalties for NWA will be paid...At the start of the third quarter, I'd imagine! And no, I'm not on retainer for the band! :P

talk about "livin' the dream"- cool.
Didn't Ryan on The Office have a scene were he's sitting at his desk, looking at it and then looks at the camera and says "okay, if I had to, I could be out of this job with my desk cleaned out in 2 minutes". Classic.

I quit my job and started my own business working from home precisely so that I could have more time with my first born little girl. Having our first child AND starting my own business in the same month sounded like lunacy, but everything has worked out wonderfully over the last two and a half years. I wouldn't trade a second of time I've had with my daughter for ANYTHING...

Congrats, Jeremey...best of luck with everything in your life...

Best of luck to you Jeremey! I am really thrilled for you. You went through a lot over the past few years, and it is great to see you finding enjoyment at what you love to do - and you do great at it!!!

P.S. - Don't listen to the haters. They are just jealous that someone else is enjoying success in life while their own lives completely suck. If they can point out someone else's supposed faults, it makes them feel less guilty about their own rotten state of life. Unfortunately we've got more than our share of people like that on this forum. While they are a small minority of the forum members, they scream, cry, and yell loud enough to make life rough for all of us who would like to post here and have intelligent discussions.

Maybe Andrew should create a new forum for them called "Get a Life" or "My Life Sucks So Let Me Bully You".

If nine out of ten people here would have sold out that experience for a few hundred thousand dollars, then that's a true shame, and maybe says something to the state of the world we live in.

Jeremey,
I can tell you that, after almost 18 years in the military,
13 deployments (anywhere from 3-6 month stretches) to the
Middle East and a one-year remote to Korea, NO AMOUNT OF $$$
can replace the time lost from my family. Heck, by the time my youngest is
2 yo, I will have missed 11 months of her life because I am going right
back to Iraq in January... It just isn't worth it.
I can DEFINITELY understand your reasoning...
Good Luck with this endeavor.
Welcome to Terminus... You hungry?

Jeremy I applaud you for choosing family over career. I'd say you definitely made the right choice. Timing is everything as they say. And your babies are only babies for such a very short time. I too took a pay cut to work from home so that it would free me up to be available for my daughter and her activities and I don't regret it for a minute!! Kudos to you!!
