High Quality videos from the Ellen performance yet?

Postby Loneman1 » Thu May 29, 2008 8:31 am

I loved watching it live, and getting the youtube vids (many thanks to whoever uploaded them!!), but does anyone have any higher quality videos of all the stuff? I understand "Faithfully" is impossible since it wasn't actually broadcast, but SW and the little bit of AATY would be awesome!

I'm just PO'd that I took the afternoon off only to have AATY cut out. I kept waiting and waiting for Journey, then with 5 minutes left, I figured they'd only get one song. The worst part? Arnel was absolutely singing his ass off on AATY.

Oh, come on. You know he sucked. Besides, he said c'mon...

just kiddin'. Loved his performance of both the ballads. SW wasn't great. I can't help wondering if a better mix would help. The background vocals were almost non-existent and Arnel's voice was SO far out front of the band.

Still, was happy to see them on TV. Hopefully, it will be the start of big things for them.

Yeah, I saw it and its GREAT, but I am talking about something like an HD capture of SW and the little bit of ATTY from a satellite hookup. Something more along the lines of TiVo and whatnot :)

Upon further review, my station broadcast Ellen at 704x480 which is basically DVD resolution (3/4 D), not HD...

Yea, that kinda annoyed me too. However, the promo is just starting. I believe Andrew is right in saying that the promotion is just starting.....

But, isn't there just 4 days left until the CD is out?

Just watched it in HD and I have 2 observations:

1) Arnel was a little flat on about 3 or 4 notes.

2) After All These Years sounding absolutely magnificent til it got cut.

SJ, did your station air it in true HD? Mine didn't (although I did capture it digitally off air).

Now that you mention it it may have been with the corners cut...I'll have to relook later. I recognized one person from the official site. Wonderful lady. 8)

Yea, but people still need to find out that Journey is alive again. There should have been more promotion before now, but Andrew keeps hinting that there is more to come. Again as mentioned on here before, they have to kind of draw in the people with old hits that are familiar, and then hit them with AATY. It only 6 days from release, at least here in Utah.

Just caught it on Philippine TV an hour or so ago.

He seemed a little nervous on Separate Ways, flat on some notes, but more than decent enough.
After All These Years sounded good, but when the credits started to roll, I just KNEW they wouldn't get to the chorus...
Anyways, I'm a happy fan.

wech.
