Darla Ellis 1964-2008

Postby cyndy! » Mon Jun 02, 2008 2:51 pm

i just read this sad news over at the generations forum:

MNM wrote:Hello folks. I know that some of you have heard the news, or at least some of it, that one of our own has left us. Darla Ellis, one of the partners in crime behind Journey Past & Present suffered a massive brain hemmorrage last night and was pronounced brain dead. Her family will be taking her off life support later today and donating her organs to those who need them. The person who gets her heart is a very lucky person indeed for she was so very kindhearted.

I am in a personal state of shock as I have lost a very very dear friend with whom I've shared many great memories. I am at a total loss for words, and for those of you who know me know how rare that is.

There is no word on services as yet, but if you want to be kept informed send me a PM and I'll be in touch. Keep in your thoughts her husband Emerson Dong (another JPP consipirator), her daughter Telysa, and grandson Aiden who will miss her very very much.

I never heard of her before this thread, but that's horrible news for anyone, any family, to have to deal with. My thoughts and prayers go to her and her loved ones.

i don't think she ever posted on MR, but some people over here knew her. she organized many fan events with a group called "journey past & present." this pic was taken at a luncheon after the WOF ceremony. she's in the black floral shirt, kneeling 2nd from left.

Thank you for letting us know, who she was. Frankly, I think this is indeed a sad day for Journey fans as well. We've lost a wonderful human being and a beautiful woman I must say.

My condolences to you and all that knew her. 44 is way to young to go. Even more so since she was a parent.

Darla was very active in the Journey world.

As Cyndy mentioned she was a member of Journey Past and Present (JPP) the group which organized many events including the star on the hollywood walk of fame (and the ceremonies), the star at the Bill Graham Memorial.

Her husband Emerson was the man behind the dvd's from many events.

Emerson needs our strength now. He is lost.
