DESIGNER OF PRINGLES CAN HAS ASHES BURIED IN ONE OF THEM: Some of the ashes of the man who designed the Pringles can were buried in one of them in line with his wishes after he died early last month at age 89. Fredric J. Baur wanted the unusual burial arrangement because he was so proud of his iconic design, which was patented in 1970. Baur's children said they put part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container in his grave, while the rest were put in a urn buried along with the can. Some ashes were also placed in another urn and given to a grandson. Barr was an organic chemist and food storage technician who worked for Procter & Gamble, the maker of Pringles.
