Perhaps it did. :)

I'm not sure who is calling the shots on Arnel's interpretation but I'd say he/they are smart bastards. Arnel caught my ear when he up stood Perry on a couple of spots by going higher than Perry did on the original which show cases Arnel's range. What a perfect strategy. Let Arnel put the vice grips on the old ball sack and turn the range up a notch for a one shot, studio performance. No one one will ever expect to here it like that live so he doesn't have to "turn it up" as everyone is expecting to here the Perry version. He only has to turn the range up when he wants to and/or can. I'd say that was a fucking brilliant strategy on Arnel/Journey's part. That shit caught my ear in a big way and I suspect will catch others.

Now who are the brains behind this strategy or is it just dumb luck? I'd have to say the only shot for it being a thought out strategy would have to be from Arnel. As based on Journey's recent and not so recent history, there isn't anyone smart enough from the existing crew to come up with this. It's either a stroke of dumb luck, Arnel or some new dude behind the scenes with a brain.

In any event, I say smart bastards this go around ....

or perhaps lightning struck!

Well, then that's a matter of preference, not "the idiot producer left the click track in"...

Problem is, your beef isn’t with the merits of my opinion per se, but rather the fact that I’m expressing it at all.
You’re bitching 'cuz there are those of us who dare bitch.

Not quite sure I get the implication...
However, your cracked-up grill does bear a likeness to the Wicked Witch of the West.
With only one more unemployment check left, perhaps you should look into the professional dwarf tossing circuit.
Throw in a pair of red ruby slippers, a little dog, and you will virtually corner the market on simulated spunk shooting in the Wonderful Land of Oz. :D

Oh please ...
GOD- SORRY I censored you- I really didn't. You had your say, I had mine. Big Deal.
I just see a lot of bitching about the smallest of shit and making a big deal out of what's pretty much just a bonus (the rerecords). The real album is the new stuff and the rerecords amount to a hand job for WalMart. It's not that big of a deal. It's just music and business. It's fun to talk about and discuss it... until someone takes it way too personally and just starts slinging shit.
Whatever man. Have a good day.

Total shit.
I talked about the music sucking, you spoke as a self-appointed apparatchik of the NOMOTA Co., schoolmarmishly ruler-slapping those who dare hurt big bad Neal's wittle feelings. Tsk tsk.

Boy, that stuff you quoted- Yeah, that's censoring you! And those opinions are so extreme and hurtful. I'm no fan of Neal Schon the guy. He's proven himself (and Cain) to be a complete Douche Bag. How am I sticking up for him?? I'm stating facts. The band cannot win, no matter what they do. Every move they make (even if it's a good one) they get slammed.

The only comment I see there is the rain on the parade one. I almost pulled that out of the original post and got sidetracked.

Where in there did I 'ruler slap' anybody??? If I ruler slapped anybody, I'd have been calling them all sorts of names and crap.... oh wait! That was YOU!

If you feel the need to keep up with this, take it to a PM and spare everybody else this BS.

You say music is “fun to talk about and discuss it,” but ironfisted decrees like “Don’t like it, don’t listen,” sure don't sound fun.
In fact, it sounds very much like a preemptive attempt to shoot down criticizing voices right out of the CJ playbook.

The subserviant fluffer mentality contained in your quotes speak for themselves.

Many people on here have expressed criticism of the re-dos, while heaping nothing but praise of the new material (me included).
Like the good kneepad-wearing chromesucker you are, you now choose to invalidate those thoughtful opinions in one fell swoop as "slamming."
We will not be subject to your reign of terror, BackTalk lemming.

Of course it is Deen's hi-hat, some drummers seem to do that, like Aynsley Dunbar on the 1987 Whitesnake album. Shirley should have turn it down.
