Sounds like a big event.

The 15th year anniversary of NOKIA NIGHT OF THE PROMS Germany arena tour will feature performances by Robin Gibb, Tears For Fears, 10cc, Dennis DeYoung along with Igudesman & Joo, Angels in Harlem Gospel Choir and the 72 piece Orchestra IL Novecento conducted by Robert Groslot.

NOKIA NIGHT OF THE PROMS is the biggest annual indoor event in Europe and brings a mix of pop and classic music to the audiences all over Germany consisting of 18 concerts in 12 cities in the finest indoor venues of Europe.

Dennis DeYoung will perform three songs joined by the IL Novecento Symphony Orchestra, conductor Robert Groslot, the Electric Band, and Angels in Harlem Choir. DeYoung has not performed in Germany since 1982.

This is a big deal, awesome for Dennis. Hopefully there will be some cool footage of this event. Tears for Fears did this event before and I have seen some footage on youtube.

Yes.. so has Roxette, Foreigner, Asia etc.

Its sort of like the 80s Retro tours here, with each band getting a certain time.

But it sounds like he is only getting three songs a night though, could this be why he's doing it? (Other then the dumptruck full of Euros they've promised him?)

There is a lot of dates though, he's gone for almost a month! So this will be a test for him, since he really hasn't done a big string of dates since a year or two ago when he did Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia in one swing.

If he only does get three songs (More then likely Babe, Come Sail Away and maybe Best Of Times) he'll more then likely be the 1st or the 2nd act up, since Tears For Fears and Robin Gibb had way more success in Europe then he/Styx did.

Good for Dennis!

Sounds like a big event indeed. With only three songs, he likely will be introducing (or re-introducing) himself to audiences abroad.

I am happy to hear he is getting this opportunity.

Maybe he will have to play 'Boat on the river',
which I think was Styx' biggest hit in Germany .
Kinda like New Styx had to play 'Babe' in Japan.

That blast was this time last year - the Halifax Concert was on June 13th. I flew "home" from Montreal to attend. Then I flew back for the other Quebec concerts. He had a really good run going! What fun that was! He'll be back in Quebec/Ontario at the end of this month and in July.

I am sure Twisted Sister will be playing a venue near you, soon. That is when Dee is not doing reality TV.

Then hang in there, I'm coming home in two weeks for a vacation, whee!! (Family wedding #2).

I'll take you to all the good places - I know where they are by sound so I can find them in the fog. LOL!

This is Dennis by himself with the orchestra, choir and Electric Band for three songs. It's basically a vacation for the De Young family. The three songs he plays...Come Sail Away, Mr. Roboto and Babe.

Right Froy... He's going over there and he's NOT going to play his biggest song..

He's doing Babe there.. No ifs, ands or buts about it!
