As far as bringing back energy goes, that's meant as a frame of mind issue not simply as a type of song issue. Maybe they'd remember how much better they were when they were together & just put more enthusiasm into their shows. "Babe" wasn't fast paced, but neither was "Snowblind" or Boat on the River". They did better when they produced theses songs than they're doing nowadays so maybe if they were back together they'd put more energy into their shows.
HUH?????
let me get this straight - you're complaining that the "faster" songs they are doing sound slower and less energetic, but you want them to get back together with dennis so they can do more songs like Snowblind Babe, BOTR which weren't fast paced but had more energy? hmmm... i dont think so.
honestly, i think the band still has more energy than bands half their age. Granted, they lost a lot when glen left, but they are still entertaining and adept at getting the audience involved. more so than a band like boston. most of the styx reviews in recent times (say the past 8 years) have mentioned just how energetic a show they put on. Yes, when they are headlining they step it up a bit more, and i would like to see longer shows, but at this point i'm glad i still have an opportunity to go. Yes, a new song here and there would be a treat, but being realistic, the average joe concertgoer prefers to hear the classics.
