It's true.
He was in Chicago when it happened, thankfully. This is a video taken by "Gowangirl" and posted on Youtube. PLEASE no remarks this time, guys. The whole thing is really kinda eerie.

Tommy Shaw announced at last night's show that Suzie Young had a very serious medical emergency, and JY was by her side in Chicago. She may have already undergone emergency surgery. Let's all send our thoughts and prayers to all concerned for a full and speedy recovery for Suzie.
Good thoughts and prayers for Suzie if this is true.

We just learned today that Susie Young had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. This was a very serious situation. Please, I hope everyone in the Styx family will send all their prayers, best wishes, and energy to JY and Susie to see them throught. Last I heard, she was doing as well as can be expected, but lucikly JY was in Chicago when this happened, so he is by her side.
Styx could have cancel or postponed the show tonight in Huddleston, VA but JY insisted that they go on with the show and not let down the fans. The crew still set up JY's mike complete with picks and had his "One with Everything" guitar hanging on the back amps. So, JY was there in spirit. Tommy looked like he was missing his right arm. The band worked very hard to do the show without JY. Lawrence performed "Lorelei" and did a really excellent job. And Lawrence played guitar on another song. And they pulled a few old friends out of moth balls and did "Sing for the Day, and a couple of others. At the end of the show, Tommy had Libby turn up the house lights (even though we were in a field) and Tommy pulled put his camera and annouced he wanted everyone to scream at the top of their lungs and he was sending the video to JY and Susie.
As far as I know, the shows are still going on in Roanoke Rapids and Atlanta. But I don't expect JY to be there.
Again, I hope everyone will keep JY and Susie in their thoughts and I pray she will make a speedy and complete recovery.

Best wishes to JY and Suzie.
You never know... this could be a blessing in disguise. DDY contacts JY to wish him and Suzie well, the olive branch starts growing, and next thing you know classic Styx is back with Larry helping on keys and Suzie's all healthy. Hey, we can imagine right?

I hoped someone snapped a video of lawrence doing lorelei. Always wanted to hear him do it.

I am wishing Mrs. Young a fast and full recovery. Their many years together are a testament to their commitment and love.

I could NOT agree more. Thank you. As a recent newlywed, it's heartbreaking, yet, inspiring to see a couple who have been together so long taking care of one another. Relationships that are nurtured can be amazing things.
I think the guys did a great job of pulling off the show without their "right arm," but I am in no way doing backflips over any of it. Mostly, I feel unsettled, and I just want her to make a full recovery.

Her proof consisted of two things: A line that TS supposedly borrowed from her as inspiration for the song little girl world off of his firs solo record and an illness asociated with JY's wife that she descirbed as "terminal". Considering the envorionment we were in that night, I was skeptical to say the least. After hearing this though, well the twighlight zone music is playing. Hope she is doing better.
