Our boy Luke is playing with Rascall Flatts on the 12th.....I am miles and miles away, so I can't make it.....but if you are nearby I would get a ticket and join the fun.....

It's great that the relevant artists of today recognize the immense talent of Luke...

Sounds pretty cool. RF are underrated as musicians because they are "country" imo (pop in reality). I'm confused, is he guesting on stage or sharing a bill with them?

Yeah, I can't really tell the difference between them and every other country thing I've heard in the last several years. No one takes it seriously because it all sounds the same...because it's all written, played and produced by the same bunch of guys. Admittedly, it's kind of like the LA scene that Toto grew out of, except without any stylistic diversity.

I know Rascal Flatts does their own stuff, for the most part, but the fact that they're the exception, not the norm, makes it kind of an uphill battle for country to get any respect. Maybe if they started putting Dan Huff's name on the records instead of the marginally talented "artists" he usually produces, things would change.

I can't stand their production. It is Pro Tool'd to death. The harmonies are all pitch corrected and vocaligned. Hate it. They are really the Bon Jovi of country. Heck, Bon Jovi is country now too. So, I guess these guys would have been a hair band in the 80s?
