Positive Outlook

Postby froy » Fri Oct 17, 2008 11:17 pm

Its very easy to see why the country is in huge trouble.
We have leaders and the media spreading negativity all over the place.
I don't know about you but everywhere I go and everyone I talk to has a negative outlook.
The Law of Attraction is real so If everyone and everything is negative then guess what we are in trouble.
If you think positive you will attract positive.

That freaking media outlet is horrific.
Look at today on CNN.com
It says Stocks Ready to Tank
Great work CNN spew that negativity
Would it be better to have the headline Stocks look to open lower?
Its all about how you say it.

Its time for the world to start pumping in a Positive attitude .
When you see someone today tell them things are getting better.
The crook Bush is gone and we will start getting back to a better economy.

Do you find it ironic that Bush has 3 weeks left and gas is about to go back to 2 bucks a gallon?
What does that tell you?
The oil companies stuck it to us because of Bush.
The worst 8 years of most Americans lives.

Thank God he is gone.

I can tell you a GREAT/ TRUE George Bush story.

I dont like him as a President, but I hear he is a SUPER SUPER guy.

Anyway, a couple of years ago there is some Republican fundraiser in Ohio near the Kentucky border. George & Laura Bush are there for an appearance and so is Hall Of Fame Catcher Johnny Bench. George walks up to Johnny Bench and tells him what a fan of his he is. Well right before Geroge & Laura leave Johnny walks up to George and tells George that they are having a suprise birthday party for him later that night( he found out by accident) and wants to know if the President wants to attend. George quickly checks with Laura who tells the President he cant go that night because they have other plans.

Anyway, about 11pm that night after most of the Johnny Bench's party goers have left, in walks four secret service men and behind them in comes The President.

About 25 people stayed and they sat around watching Sports Center until 2 am. I heard that he begged Laura to attend pleading ' It's Johnny Bench, Baby please please let me go'

My brother works with some of the people who were there. I met a couple of em and they said he was the nicest most down to earth guy, he served em drinks and food and they sat around and talked sports until the middle of the night. I've seen the pictures.

Does that make him a good President?? No But besides this example I have heard of others, They all say he is a GREAT GREAT guy.

Hmmm... he indulged himself by hanging out for a night with someone he considers a personal idol. None of US would ever do that, given the opportunity. What a great, selfless act! I wonder if he would have also stopped by my birthday party, or yours, if we asked, under the same circumstances?

I am a Republican and agree 100% with you. George Bush is our Jimmy Carter. McCain still has a chance, but the damage that George Bush has done to the Republican party "brand" will be felt for years to come.

A complete idiot.

Man Of,

He wouldnt stop by your house because you are a nobody. Whats your point???

I too think he is a lously President, and he was not too good of baseball owner or governor. My point was I have met and talked to alot of people that have met him and one that has worked for him. Everyone that I have talked to says he is a GREAT guy. He treats people real good.

As for some of the things he has done as a President- el stink O. With that said the congress that he is working with is by faaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the worst in US history.

If George Bush found a way to end all wars, end cancer, diabetes, heart disease, AID, ALS and at the same time make all Americans rich, popular, and energy independent the idiot Democrats in The House & Congress would veto it.

I agree with that ....... I was saying to a friend that if I had the power to lower taxes, end the war peacefully, give everyone free health care, everyone free student grants have gas $1 a gallon, free beer for life and was able to reunite Styx with DDY ( just added the last one for here) nobody would vote for me if I said I dont believe in god ...... I dont disbelieve in god I just do not know and I commend people who honor their religion but religion and politics IMO do not mix .......

I've met him socially. The president is a very nice fellow. I'd wager that most, even the hardcore liberals, on this board would enjoy him if the president part didn't come into play.

He doesnt drink anymore.

He once had a major alcohol problem.

100% true story Froy. My brother teaches at Kentucky(UK) and his boss and his bosses son were at Johnny Bench's birthday when George walked in . They watched Sports Center until 2 am and talked for another 1.5 hours. I saw all the pictures and heard the stories from my brothers boss myself. George truly begged Laura to let him go and stay out late. He was on a working vacation at the time. But to hear the story and to hear George telling his wife' please please honey it's Johnny Bench, The Big Red Machine, he's in the Hall Of Fame, he was better than Munson or Fisk please please, youve got to let me go'

How damn funny is that??

I also have a real good friend from high school that flies the vechicles around all over the world that the Presidents ride in. He has done this for Bill Clinton & George Bush. He only had small talk with Bill, but says George is one of the nicest guys he's ever met. He and his family have even been to George's ranch in Crawford, Tx. My buddy's from Minnesota and he said that George is smart beyond belief in almost any subject and he is one of those people that can put people from any walk of life at ease around him.

I hate what he has done as a President, but I believe 100% that he is a great guy.

Like I stated the Dems are sooooooooooooo hell bent at destroying Bush and any Republicans that succeed him that no Republican will ever be successful with the Democrats running congress. It's criminal they are sooooo pitiful.

Clinton is on my list of the top five people I'd like to meet for the same reason. While I don't necessarily agree with him on everything he managed to be te ultimate teflon president and as such is larger than life. I'm sure he's a very interesting fellow.

"I have always liked and admired Colin Powell "

Just like hollywood and the media loved John McCain when he was sticking it to the Bush Administration. Now that he is running against Obama, he is the anticrist. Well, maybe that is Joe the Plumber. All that guy did was ask Obama a question, and he has NBC parked in front of his house, had his tax records posted and is being smeared because he does not have a plumber's liscence. Everyone is glossing over the point that Obama wants to take his money, mine and yours and "spread the wealth." What a novel idea, just like his not raising the taxes of "95% of Americans"...oh by the way 50% of said Americans are not currently paying Federal taxes. Lets spread the wealth, how bout a nice flat tax rate so that George Soros, Madonna, and Warren Buffet can climb aboard the socialism train.

What is funny is that on Monday morning I said to a Republican friend ..... not wearing your Colin Powell shirt, he looked at me in disgust and said how dare you make fun of a great and respected American, shortly afterwards he heard that Powell had endorsed Obama as he had not seen or heard the news on Sunday ....... and then called him every name under the sun ...... sooooo fickle.

He was saying how hot Sarah Palin is ...... wait until he finds out Palin is really a man.

If so, she would not be the first to serve office in that capacity, remember Janet Reno (ugh). By the way, I still admire Colin Powell and there is nothing wrong about his endorsement of Obama. Many life long democrats have supported Bush and Regan in years gone by. Many former generals and leaders endorse McCain, and most importantly, the Chuck Norris endorses him.....so there!

I would like to see Toby Keith in a cage match against all three Dixie Chicks. Actually that would not be a fair fight, number and all. So maybe we could throw in Barbra Striesand with the Chicks to even it up.

"I wonder who Styx members past and present will vote for ..."

Interesting question, I think at one time that would be a no brainer, all democrats. I remember a lot of dispariging remarks towards Regan way back in the day. Now days, I think most of them would go Obama, now days IMO:

JY - Liberal all the way, big proponent of removing the death penalty for convicted murders on death row in Illinois
Chuck - Demo all the way, although for gay people, I am not sure what the don't ask don't tell policy really did for their cause
TS - Demo, its cool for a rock star to be a democrat. However, if Uncle Teddy threatens him with that firery arrow from the DY tour...
Glen - Probably a demo
Gowan - He's a Canadian, Democrat
John P - If he were alive. A big hockey fan might be pursuaed by the Hockey mom. Seriously I could see JP being potentially a gun owner too.
Dennis - A one time liberal, something tells me that he has had second thoughts over the years
Riki Philips - Don't know, maybe Nader

Not even close. To me those are minor issues. I am also BIG BIG For stem cell research.

What I am not is a wacked out, left wing, lets all be the same, socialistic liberal.

Our democratic congress is KILLING us.

I am conservative as hell but I am a sensible conserative. I hunt I believe in hunting rights, BUT I am dead against citizens, gangbangers or whoever owning assult rifels, semi automatic pistols, uzis, cop killer bullets etc.

As per abortion I believe it should be a womens choice up to a point. If abortion is being used as a source of birth control I would sterlize the woman or lock her up.

As for almost every other issue in regards to economics I am a straight up republican.

As for my voting I usually vote pretty much republican except I usually vote for democratic judges.

I am 100% for kicking out EVERY illegal that is on US soil. I may not be realistic, but I am sure for trying like hell to kick them ALLLLLLLL out. I would gladly pay 15 dollars for a head of lettuce knowing my health care costs would go way way down, and our school system wouldnt be clogged up with a culture that for the most part could give a rats ass about education. As we now teach to the lowest denominator.

I am sorry their country is shit rotten. I truly am. But I sure as hell dont want ours to become that way.

I am also DEAD AGAINST anyone living on our soil reaping the benefits of the American culture who is not a citizen, somehow gets to vote, and spouts out against the culture.

I do believe in some Conservative issues

NO PROBLEM WITH HUNTING .......
I WOULD NEVER WANT MY WIFE TO HAVE AN ABORTION (UNLESS WIFE'S LIFE IS IN DANGER) BUT YOUR RIGHT YOU CANNOT TELL A WOMAN THAT SHE MUST HAVE A BABY ...... BUT CHILDREN SHOULD BE EDUCATED AT SCHOOL AND AN ADOPTION SCHEME SHOULD BE FUNDED BETTER ...... NOTHING AGAINST PEOPLE WHO CANNOT HAVE A BABY PAYING FOR A BABY ...... WOULD CUT DOWN THE ABORTION RATE.
NO PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE MAKING GOOD MONEY BY WORKING HARD AND BEING TAXED LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, JUST DO NOT LIKE THE GIVE EM MORE POLICY.,,,, I AM NOT FOR WEALTH DISTRIBUTION BUT I AM FOR STOPPING THESE HANDOUTS TO COMPANIES THAT MAKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS PROFIT ....... WHY CANT THEY GET BY ON THE MULTI BILLION DOLLAR PROFITS, THEY DO NOT NEED TAX HANDOUTS.
MY BIG ISSUE WHICH ANNOYS ME IS I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD GET AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE, PEOPLE LOSE THEIR HOMES TO PAY FOR IT WHICH IS JUST UNFAIR AND THIS SORRY YOUR NOT COVERED FOR THAT SURGERY BECAUSE YOU ALREADY HAVE THE CANCER IS JUST A JOKE .......... SORRY NOT PAYING FOR IT , SAY HELLO TO ST PETER AT THE GATES ON YOUR WAY IN ..... MAYBE NOT UNIVERSAL FORCED HEALTHCARE BUT AN OPTION TO HAVE GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE IF YOU WANT IT ..... IF YOU DONT WANT IT THEN THATS FINE.

ON IRAQ ..... WHY ARE WE STILL IN THERE ? TIME TO MOVE TROOPS INTO AFGHANISTAN AND GET THE PEOPLE WHO DONE 9/11 OR IF THE IRAQIS STILL WANT SECURITY MAKE THEM START PAYING A % OF THE COST FROM THEIR SURPLUS...... $6 BILLION OF THE $10 BILLION A MONTH SHOULD DO .....

Because if we leave before their military is 100% ready to secure their country,It could destabilize the ENTIRE Middle East. Every radical group will flock there. Then when this happens we will hear YOU bitch when gas is $15.00 dollars per gallon or unavailable. Thousands of people are dying everyday, and we have to reinstitute the draft to go back and try to save possibily the entire planet.

Should we have been their in the first place?? My answer is no. We needed to go there and stop Sadam but not when we did.

BUT now that we are there and fighting this war we MUST finish it and get out at the correct time.

That time needs to be soon regardless. Iraq will only be ready when it has another strong man in power, who will have to quell civil liberties to totally stamp out Al Qaeda. We will have replaced Saddam with another tyrant who happens to be more friendly towards us. This war is fast approaching 10,000 days and we know how the last conflict that lasted that long ended up.
