OT - might be gone for a while

Postby FormerDJMike » Mon Nov 17, 2008 10:22 pm

Might be gone for a while, having to cut corners on bills and internet is a causualty. Our mill is shutting down until Jan so I will have no income until they come back up.

Yeah, the article says they informed us of the closure. They informed us alright, via Sunday's newspaper!

Naw, I am offically retired from radio. Plus it never paid the bills and there is nothing to make me believe it will now. They say they are coming back up in Jan. I have enough funds to cover the mortgage and van payment for 2 months so we may come out OK but having a turkey dinner of peanut butter sandwiches instead of traditional turkey. Called cable company this morning, they are cutting off internet and cable the 19th :(

Oh well, this means several things : My HDTV may not have cable but we have plenty of DVD's to watch that have never been opened. Instead of being on the internet or even working we can color with our daughter and play board games. I have heard this does bring a family closer if you eliminate electronics so we shall see.

Just got word from the company two more mills are closing down for the same duration (probably the end of Jan) one in Michigan and the other in Canada. No wonder our stocks are a measly 79 cents a share!

Froy,

You must of been that kid who ALWAYS blamed everyone else for your problems.

Too bad you didnt out grow that. Most kids do.

Get a mirror. Thats where the problem lies.

P.S. Sorry about the events Mike.

Keep your head up, It will get better.

Sorry to hear that Mike. Sucks.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

It has been 4 days since they announced it and STILL no one from there has called to tell me about it (along with everyone else in my dept). All my info comes from the news. How sad is that? I am on my off days but even the guys a gals that are there say management is tight lipped. WJHG.COM is reporting it is a 40 day lay-off. Well.... Godspeed! I did find a job already but I think I willl make more drawing unemployment so I will have to check on that.

Good luck to you pal.

By the way, where is the praise for Bush on these low gas prices we are paying right now. If he was to blame on the high pices (which I do not agree with) then give him credit on lowering those prices. Less than $2 a gallon where I live....whooooohooooooooo

Very sorry to hear about your work, hopefully they are truthful and it is only a temporary layoff. It's very hard to be out of work especially when you have uncertainty about when you will have work again.
