Born for Adventure ....

Postby MtlLady » Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:59 am

... was played last night on CHOM at 5 p.m. It was not a request either! I had to do a double-take to my car radio to make sure it was actually the radio and not my CD player. I had NEVER heard this song played on radio before. Go CHOM!

I might have driven off the road if that came on the radio down here. Or fallen out of my chair, one.

Word, Yogi. That is such a great ROCK album.

Luckily for me, I was still parked because I would have done the same thing!

I had just finished turning the key in the ignition to head out of the parking lot and since I never turn off my sound system the radio came on and WHOA, BORN FOR ADVENTURE!!!!

I forgot to mention but they followed that up with one of the new songs off of the Black Ice (AC/DC) CD. It was a great drive home!!

WOW!
I used to love listening to CHOM while living in upstate NY growing up...Nowdays we have a country radio station that bleeds over from 97.5 onto 97.7. It sucks donkey nuts. That nighttime guy with the french accent (Claude Rouggotte? [or something like that]) played some good shit taking us a few tracks deeper into some of the good albums of the times.
Anyways, that tune is a true classic...hadn't thought about it for years, so thanks for bringing it up. Equinox was the first LP I ever owned.
When was the last time they broke out "Born for Adventure" on tour? I mean, if they can pull a mediocre song like "Midnight Ride" out of their hats in '07 (the last time I saw them)...

You're welcome.

I've only been in Mtl 7.5 years so I don't know the name of the old night guy. It's some guy named Bilal now. Sorry about the country radio station - I had the same thing growing up. It was country or middle of the road easy listening. Ugh.

I think it would be cool to hear Born for Adventure on tour, but I imagine they keep Midnight Ride because JY has always handled voice on it - not so BFA.
