To be fair and balanced, it's not like at this moment in time Styx, Shaw/Blades, or anything from the other side of the fence is touring as much. Granted, we've heard no summer announcement yet as to what they may or may not be doing.

I just looked on styxworld.com. Including tonight's show in Stateline, NV, they've got 13 dates on the books. Yes, Dennis has two upcoming shows (OH and NYC at this point), but I would assume that now the work is done on the US version of the album, he'll do about as much touring as he did the past few years (say, 30 - 50 dates). I would expect Styx to tour much more than the dates they have now before the year is up, but give me a break here. I think the days of Styx doing like 100 shows a year are over. That's not a bad thing. Them going away may mean I want to see them again; their show got quite stale. Entertaining? Sure, but not as much as it used to be.

You also have to remember that in this crappy economy, artists like DDY and yes, Styx, may do better because they are not/were not $100+/night bands who have to drop their rates, and they were not playing large venues. So they can still pretty much keep ticket prices reasonable for good entertainment.

Well, did you see Shaw Blades? They did a lot of tunes which had keyboards with nary a one in sight and those shows were fantastic. A good tune is a good tune, and it may be nice to see some new arrangements of some "classics".

Plus, if DDY plays piano the whole night, I will be happy as a clam. The man doesn't play keys enough these days. For that alone it'd be worth the price I paid for two tickets today.

Okay, I'll try to guess....

Rik is touring with Triumph starting this summer, so probably a no
John Waite will be in Europe in June, I'm guessing Jimmy will be going, so no on Jimmy and John
Kevin has a few open dates in June, an obvious guess
Jack Blades is open that date in June
Tommy Shaw, might have the time open that night

(I get Night Ranger 4 times close to my area this tour!!!)
(Styx will be in my area 4+ times too, solo and with others!!!)

I'd say my guess would be...

Paul McCartney - he's free on that date

and I was thinking Steve Perry, but that show would be in Chicago....

I think it's much more likely if the second guitarist is Jimmy (being local and having a relationship with Glen) or someone from Dennis's own band.

This show is being billed as Dennis (primarily) with a mention of Glen. Having a heavy hitter (like those named -- I didn't see a smilely next to anyone else except Tommy, but you are joking, right???) as the second guitarist is highly unlikely.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

It was really good. I could not believe how good CSA sounded with only piano and acoustic guitar.

There was a brief interview with Dennis somewhere a few months back where he was commenting on a recent accoustic show he did in Arizona with Glen and Jimmy on guitars and him on piano. I do not recall seeing it anywhere in his tour dates, but he was making reference to it. For that reason (along with familiarity with the songs), it would seem to me that it would be Jimmy joining him.

That was a private show just before Hunchback got underway. It was the outcome of Jimmy and Dennis messing around prior to a show and them working through a couple of songs then realizing that the show had possibilities and voila. I am sure there is tape somewhere of it, but it has never made it into the publics hand as far as I know.

Jimmy Leahy, who has worked with Glen for many, many years now. I think I read somewhere else that he is *NOT* going to be the other guitarist though.

Jimmy Leahey is also the guitarist for John Waite (& a few other bands on the east coast). John Waite and his band will be touring in Germany during June.

Where's Jimmy?

Nope, never know where that boy is. I have a hard enough time keeping up with myself!!!

Seriously, his MySpace Page says he's in Germany with John Waite on June 5th. So it's not him.

Stephane Dufour's website and/or his MySpace page isn't listing anything all. I can't see him going to the US for one show though.

I'm going to be selfish here and hope that the third person will be Tommy Dziallo. :-)

Dennis is Touring!!! Can't wait to hear that voice again ..... Yippee!!!! (I think I've already said that. Old age, yaknow.)
