That was his "comeback" song of sorts.. It was quite refreshing to hear it on radio in the early 90's, something that WASN'T Grunge.

It was also another platinum album for Mr. Gowan too if I recall.. he had I believe at least 5 singles off that album and he was being played by many different radio stations.. lite rock, album rock, Adult Contemporary, Christian..

His stripped back sound on that CD really helped bring him back into the spotlight.

In a time that anyone connected to the 80s to get that much airplay up here was miraculous..

Although I love Strange Animal, "But You Can Call Me Larry" is still my fav solo album of his..

Dennis, to me is a better singer than Gowan hands down. That was a great song though and prolly could've had potential down here in the good ole' US of A 8)

In the "for what it's worth column"...I've always believed Gowan to employ far more vibrato in his singing than Dennis. The song is a good one, but I prefer Dennis' vocal styling more.
