Mis Heard Lyrics

Postby froy » Fri Apr 10, 2009 1:02 pm

I can think of many songs that I swore the lyrics said one thing only to find out it was something else

How about this gem

Well I don;t like candies and knives I got the feeling that something ain't right.

Only to find out it was

Well I don;t know why I came hear tonight I got the feeling that something ain't right

Stuck in the middle with you..

Or
Are ya reelin in the yeast stowin away the time..

Lets have fun

Well the one I know off hand was the one from Jimi Hendrix:

"Scuse me while I kiss this guy" :lol:

Oh wow, thousands on this one, prior to the internet publishing the words, did anyone ever figure the words to Louis Louis by the Kingsmen?

How many of you bought into the fact that Peter Frampton was NOT saying "I wanna thank you" on the live album during the classic Do you feel like I do?
The lyrics to Stairway to Heaven, I think I misheard all of them. When I first heard melt with you, I thought I heard the line, "never knowing it was always Nick at night". Man on the run instead of Band on the Run.

Living in the Fish Islands - Limelight (Rush, should be 'fish-eye lens')

He's a writer and a Ranger - New World Man (Rush, should be 'and arranger')

A state of Eternal Corn Flakes is all that I've found - Mathematics of Chaos (Killing Joke, should be 'state of eternal conflict')

Let's move before they raise the f#@king rent - All Right Now (Free, apparently this is a widely-mistaken one, it's supposed to be 'parking rate')

This song sucks! - Miss America (Styx, live versions, should be 'Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeyou rrrrrrrrrrrrreeadddddyyyy for Misssssssssssssss Amerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriccccaaaa??") :wink:

There are a lot of the songs that I have misheard the lyrics to, but I'm remembering very few of them.

In Psycho Killer [Talking Heads];

Psycho Killer, Episcapade [and then I thought it was 'escape' but it turns out he's saying Qu'est-ce que c'est ???]

In High Time [Styx];

I try to turn to a number station [Dennis really says another station, and I knew that but it definately sounds like he's saying number]

From "In the Name of Angels" by Men Without Hats:

And all he ever wanted was to be his proudest, he never really liked tomatoes

It's actually supposed to be tornadoes, which almost doesn't make sense either.
