are you talking about the vote at the top of this thread? my, how come you didn't pick your beloved canucks? what a fucking lame-ass band-wagoner. you wouldn't know a good hockey hit from a hole in the ground. i'm starting to question whether you really even like hockey. how the hell can you pick the ducks to win the cup then jump off the band wagon as soon as you see some blood? you're stomach is that weak? or are you just scared for your canucks? afraid they weren't going to be able to match the ducks just like back in 2007? damn, i just lost a little more respect for you. and that's saying a lot because there's not much left.

i'm going to print this out and put it on the fridge.

Sybil, I predicted the winners in all four games. Fuck you are completely off the reservation. I picked ANA to beat DET but not VAN or CHI.

Go ahead, put it up on the fridge, I could give a turtle's dick. You are gone, way fucking gone.

fucktart, i know you were talking about this series only. now you know how i feel every time you respond to me. you take what i say out of context, then run with it for a few paragraphs calling me all kinds of stupid.

Sybil, can it. You think because you go to a Ducks game or 50 you know hockey. That was a bullshit hit, and I bet Brown is going to wish he were suspended. He will have his head on a swivel. I hope someone decapitates him.

Go Wings!

I suggest you people tune into the Pens/Caps series. So far, the first game was good as advertised, and the series will NOT disappoint. Overall around the league though, great hockey is being played. I don't see anyone beating Detroit or Boston but SOMETHING'S got to give, dammit

You must catch it. You missed a good one Saturday. Both Crosby and Ovy scored for each team, but that was far from the case between both teams. Our Power Play unit is out right PATHETIC and honest to Gawd, I'm SHOCKED that we are in the 2nd round with such a piss poor power play unit. We played undisciplined, and turned the puck over way too often (the story of the season.) And in the midst of all of this, I felt we played a better game, but mistakes will cost you in the playoffs, and the Caps are a team that will take advantage. Hope you catch it tomorrow, girlie. 8)

All matchups tied 1 all except the Caps/Pens who haven't played their game 2 yet... round two is interesting!!

I'm following the Western conference like a hawk (as I always do), not so much the Eastern - I ususally don't watch but a few of the eastern games until the conference finals... but watching Carolina beat up Boston last night made me happy... not because I'm pulling for the 'Canes, but because I have a renewed hope that whichever team prevails on the West might actually be able to take the bRuins.

Terrible call against Pittsburgh on that partial breakaway. The defender touched the puck before he rolled the shooter. Fuckin Mr. Magoo call.

Caps take lead in series 2-0, win 4-3. Another great game. AGAIN Pittsburgh's piss poor power play haunts them and they end up blowing it in the end. I don't know what their game plan is, but I have a good understanding. My intake is this: Leave Alexander Ovechkin WIDE OPEN every time he shoots the puck. I can understand the guy scoring (and he has the hardest shot I've ever seen) but to do it with NOONE on you....sorry, not impressed, at least Crosby (who is the only Penguin showing up in this series) works hard at the net to put in the much needed goal.

What a coincidence that this series for the 2 biggest stars BOTH had HAT TRICKS. Crosby 3, Ovy 3, and are tied with the same goal amounts in the series at 5 goals apiece. That's a whopping 10! goals between the two. Unbelievable. Unfortunately for the Pens, this isn't a one man wrecking show, the whole team needs to get their heads out of their ball sack and start playing some defensive hockey again. Going back to Pittsburgh will HOPEFULLY wake them up. We all know what we are getting out of 87 & 8, but someone else, for the love of fuck, step up.

Crosby had only 5 shots on goal with 3 scores, and Ovechkin had 12 shots, with 3 goals. Just goes to show right there how differently they play the game of hockey and still be lumped as the best two. Got to love that. We'll get em in Pittsburgh, Lynnie.

Dude, are you watching the same game? Ovie's last goal was 40 feet out with Gonchar draped all over him. Ovie used Gonchar as a screen, and Fluery had no chance. That was just one of those great plays that makes a player great.

Check out 2:34 (A complete defensive breakdown that allows the Caps to find open lanes but more importantly noone accounting for Ovie) TOO EASY!

.... 5:48 (After a shit performance on a PowerPlay from the Pens, the Caps come right back, win an easy faceoff, you see Cooke completely whiff to try to gather himself to cover Ovie, the result? Leaving Ovie WIDE OPEN with a pathetically easy shot at goal)

and at 7:11 you see another pathetic excuse of defense and AGAIN noone accounting for Ovechkin, leaving him in open ice. Gonchar wasn't draped all over him. Gonchar actually respected his speed skating backwards, and that left Ovie one on one with a defender he clearly outplays, as you can see there is noone around and this is a cake shot for Ovechkin givin the distance of ice he had to work with. This proves that the Pens game plan was outright sad, and they game planned around trying to NOT cover #8. There's no other excuse for such a lame attempt at playing defense in the National Hockey League.

Western battles resume tonight! And with the Bulls knocked out of the NBA playoffs, my Blackhawks won't be pre-empted again. That was about the only thing making me pull for the Celts on Saturday. I also missed the Ducks/Wings (omg, lol!) overtime fiasco on Sunday, so I'm not making that mistake again. NHL western double header tonight!

If this last paragraph you are talking about Ovie's third goal, then I guess treetop is right- I have no clue about this sport, the sport I played for 15 years. You all overpowered me here.

If you think that's a "cake shot" then I give up in this thread.

Relax, I see what you're saying and I'm not underlining your 15 years worth of duties playing hockey.. that is all irrelevant to what I'm trying to say.

Now that we got that out of the way, I view the last goal differently. Yes, that might be hard for one of us average joe's to go out there and shoot a shot with someone shadowing you... but this guy is a world class, PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY PLAYER, and one of (if not, THEE best player) the best in his sport. To be givin' that kind ice luxury to play with, and only having to be shadowed by a defense men, with a clear shot to the net and no one else around should make matters easier for that type of player and OBVIOUSLY, by watching.. that's exactly what it was.. cake. He made it look too easy.

Ohwell, if they don't want to guard the son of a bitch, then don't, he'll scorch you 3 or 4 times a game. Hopefully they finally realized who Ovie is, or this is going to be a dreadful series for the Pens.

When he made that shot, I looked up and said "He made that look easy!". No lie.
