Many videos up from the NYC concert on YouTube. (Thought I would start a new thread on this subject as the old one, uhm, kinda degenerated).

Very cool. I like these clips better than his full band ones. Nowhere man is really good.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I liked the piano solo at the end of "All In a Day's Work." Oh, that's right. Someone else played it. Dennis can't play like that anymore, right? :wink:

Man, I wish the rest of the show was up there, so I can pretend that I was there! LOL

Wow, they just sounded great and there's probably not a snowball's chance in Hell that I will ever get to see that again. :(

Damn, I hadn't realized how much I missed Jeff's playing. :cry:

Ok, Dennis sounds awesome, as usual. I'm sure this was a cool concert to see.

But, am I the only one who thinks the falsetto backup vocals are so annoying that they ruin every song they touch? That is just horrid.

Not to harp on this, but DDY was just nothing short of fantastic on keyboards, from what I have seen in these vids. The piano run at the end of Desert Moon was just beautiful, preceded by a really lovely guitar solo from Jeff Watson. I am running out of adjectives here. "Desert Moon" is one of my favorite DDY solo songs and those guys sure did it justice at that concert from what I can tell.

It would bother me to go to a DeYoung show where he DIDN'T play keyboards. Great singer, sure, but also a pretty influential keyboard player. I'd rather see him behind the keys than in front. He's a very corny front guy and I think he's just better behind the keys. Do a few songs in front, but his keyboard stuff is cool. As much as I like to hear The Beatles and Glenn's stuff, he really needs to be throwing Harry's Hands in there. Great song.

No, it's not. Falsetto is falsetto...even I could sing like that...and I'm calling it horrid. They could have the mix wrong...or it was filmed in a spot where the backups were taking over...But, it does not discount the fact that it was all falsetto and sounded horrible.

I swear Dennis sounds better now than he did 14 years ago. Go back and listen to "It Takes Love" off GHV2 and tell me Dennis didn't sound better with Glen in that show last week.

Dennis needs to reserve Roboto for the audiences that want to hear it, ie, those with some kids in it, like at the big festivals. I think it needs to be dropped from the orchestra shows and definitely out of this acoustic set. It just does not fit in those settings.

He most assuredly will not play obscure songs (like OSA, Call Me, Jennifer, etc.), but it seems he could plug in some more from the new CD as long as these acoustic sets are limited anyway.

What song are you referring to in particular that's so awful?

According to Glen, the audience LOVES it when they've played Roboto - every time. Granted, it wouldn't be MY first choice of requests, but then again, neither would half of Froy's personal favorites. ;-)

I think when Ash gets his open letter to James Young together, I might send a special request list to Dennis as well.

GlenBurtnikI am enjoying performing Mister Roboto utilizing 2 acoustic guitars, a bass and a grand piano at Canadian shows. The kids go nuts.

If there are kids in the audience, Roboto is a must.

For the record I don't care what the kids think about Roboto
They are making a mockery of it playing it in the show
Heck its Dennis and his band without Drums big deal.
This show should be a class show not his same show unplugged.
Dennis should take a tip from Neil Diamond get some guts and bring out the rare tunes
I forgot about Paradise that song is a must for this show
No way I see this joke unless its major overhauled.
