One thing I notice from all of the media outlets in my area is that they are only posting up pictures of MJ before he had altered his face on the stories they are running about his death. I wonder why that is?

Probably the same reason people like to remember Elvis like this:

Didn't Perry say one of the highlights of the "We Are The World" sessions was getting to meet Michael?

Corey Feldman

"I come to you today with great sadness, acknowledging the loss of the greatest entertainer in the history of mankind. For me he was more than that, he was my idol, he was a role model, he was someone to cry to when my childhood was unbearable, he was a brother, he was a dear friend. Unfortunately Michael and I had a falling out on September 10th 2001 and that broken friendship had never been repaired … I am filled with tremendous sadness and remorse. All I choose to remember from this point is the good times we shared and what an inspiration he was to me and the rest of the world. Nobody will ever be able to do what Michael Jackson has done in this industry, and he was so close to doing it all again. I am truly, and deeply sorry for all of the heartbroken fans and supporters worldwide."

As Voyager said, when we look at the photo album, only certain pictures do we care to keep in our memories.

Say what you want about the dude, he was the most famous person on earth. Even 20 years after his heyday. That's a hell of a lot to carry around. I hope he's found peace.

If it's true at least it happened AFTER the gold digger was out of the picture or she would have probably ended up owning a few Beatles albums.

Got to wonder how many of those tickets were purchased by people who were planning on making a buck off of it (scalpers, ticket collectors, etc.). For sure stubhub had a sudden shift in ticket sales for that venue perhaps.

Say a third were scalpers, or even half, thats still half a million tickets in five hours, and like I said, one city only. If other artists could do it, they would. U2 is the only one that I can think of that might pull it off.

My point is there were a number of tickets (a third your estimate) that were purchased by people who didn't give a flying fuck about MJ or his music. Not all tickets scalpes purchased for that intent to sell get sold.

I understand what you're saying. I was saying even if you remove the scalpers, how many artists that are relevant at this moment could move the left over tickets (500k) that fast for the same venue? This guy has'nt done shit for years, has no new music but as soon as he says he's touring, all these people in London came out to grab those 500k (or more) tickets, just like that without any promotion or promise of new material at the shows. That tells me that as much as we're having his personal life flung at us, there are still tons of people who put the music first in Jackson's case.

And the ticket touts would not have bought tons of tickets if they thought fans would not buy them.

I think 50 sold out dates speaks for itself. Fans bums would have been on those seats, not the scalpers.

I wasn't a fan [although I think "Rock With You" is fabulous] but you can't argue with his sales.
The man has a heck of a lot of fans all over the world.

Michael Jackson was an icon of the 80s and it makes me realize how much time has passed to hear that MJ was 50 and died of a heart attack. What a strange coincidence - I just bought the CD 'Thriller' last week. I wasn't a fan, but there were some great songs on it that are part of the soundtrack of my youth.

To those who keep making accusations, they should consider that there is a difference between being weird or suffering mental problems and being guilty and the speculations of what he "might" have done or how many he "might" have paid off are ridiculous. He was 50 years old and if he were predisposed to that type of behaviour, probability states that he would have numerous victims who are now adults and some would have spoken out, money be damned.

He had two accusers on record and both were demonstrated to be motivated by a monetary settlement - the last one had a mother who was a career con who set up "accidents" or altercations at stores and sued, until she got caught for fraud. And she used her son in her scams - I saw part of their testimony on TV and it wasn't even a challenge for MJ's lawyer to trip up the different stories they had given. Many of you are parents and I am sure that if someone molested one of your children, no amount of money would make you turn a blind eye and keep quiet, but not one parent of any of the numerous victims some of you are alleging MJ to have ever fought for their child? What are the odds of that? I believe in severe justice against child molesters, but I also believe there should be solid proof beyond reasonable doubt.

I believe he was a deeply scarred human being with questionable judgment, but unless someone has more evidence than "maybes" or credible witnesses come forward, I'm not joining the hanging party. Perhaps now that he is gone, more people who truly knew him will feel free to speak openly and we may know more of who he really was. Lisa Marie Presley once said he was nothing like his public persona. I was sad to see the MJ of the 80s turn into the character he became later in life, but I'm going to choose to remember him as he was in his glory days.

It is obvious the cards were so stacked up on him he cracked under all the pressure.

I just hope we find out what truly happened and we don't have to live through another Marilyn, Elvis or Bruce Lee on what really happened.

I will remember him for what he was in the 80's

After that he turned into somebody else.

That's not anything unusual. When people are making out wills, they'll often set up something for someone who in a logical sense they should outlive, I'm sure in the event that Sir Paul had passed before Michael that there was something else in place to default the catalog to someone else.
