I think they just were trying to protect the band members' privacy, which I understand.

I can see it both ways...I understand why it played out that way, but I also think they would've gotten nothing but support and sympathy from the fanbase had they just been honest about both things, especially with Mike.


Dave was at the Wiltern show in LA in '06 and hung out backstage with the guys before the show...no idea why he didn't play....always imagined it being a little surreal to watch someone else sing your songs with your band while you sit in the audience.

Someone PLEASE tell me the deal with Mike! I'd like to know what happened. It may have been discussed on here in the past, but I never saw it....

They sort of passed it off as a "wrist injury" at the time, but I think it's much more than that, unfortunately. :( I'm not sure exactly what though.

David Paich just played the Roxy with Steve Lukather on October 21st, Luke's birthday show, with Son Trevor's band SlideAway opening for him.
