Re: Why didn't Bobby get credited for co-lead vocal on Afric

Bobby clearly sings lead during parts of the chorus and during the end. If anyone knows the answer, it would be really cool to find out why this happened.

I don't believe you're looking at vocal credits. You're probably looking at writing credits that they list in the albums (unless you've seen this somewhere that I haven't). The album lists Paich and J. Porcaro. That's because they wrote it.

I've never heard of an album cover that lists who SANG on each song. They usually just list the writers and co-writers. Hope that helps.

Early Toto albums (and maybe later ones...i can't be arsed to check right now) list lead singers w/each song, at least on my vinyl copies. Since just about everyone in the band took a lead vocal at some point (Except Jeff P. and whoever was on bass), they included the lead singer as part of the credits for each song.

That was Joseph Williams, although Steve Porcaro sang the demo and Joe did his best to sound excactly like Porcaro.

Wow, that was really Williams? I read somewhere that it was, and thought it either had to be a mistake, or maybe there was more than one version; interesting. Thanks.
