I'm sure I don't have to point out that this is subjective on the highest level.
And I won't even mention Glen Burtnik.

Coming from one who NEVER is subjective....

Once again, I bow to your superior intellect.
I'm often subjective. The difference is, I don't make statements like "He was, and always will be the most creative person ever to be in the band" as though it's a well-known fact. That would be like me saying that it's no secret that Gowan is the best keyboard player in the world. or something. ....""

I would think that when someone posts a comment, opinion, statement here, it is automatically assumed it is that person's point-of-view, i.e., subjective. Maybe it is not that obvious.

I have to say - and this is purely subjective on my part - that what I associate with Styx (not talent mind you - or else Styx should consist of Joe Satriani, Keith Emerson, Roy Orbison, Les Claypool, and Neil Peart - but that wouldn't be the Styx we love) is Dennis Deyoung's songwriting, keyboard style, and voice. Lawrence Gowan may be a Rachmaninov pianist - but he's not Styx. It would seem the millions who no longer buy Styx albums agree with me. But to each their own!

Anyways,I just finished reading the Toronto yellow pages about a week ago, and then continued to read Websters super new school and office dictionary from beginning to end.
What do you know.? When I came to toph,I read topheavy,as in thick between the ears,Also,I read Tophus, snicker snicker. You guys can look that up for yourselves.
Needless to say, every time I see a post by toph,it gets me thin...eh laug,,

With comments like this, no wonder no one from the Styx organization/business past or present won't call you on your radio show!

Froy replied:
I never asked any of them to call so it does not matter.
Keith was Dennis 's right hand man for many years and just like all the other followers he sold out for the money.
Keep pushing the broom Keith .

Do you forget what you post on here???? LOL In your first post about your radio show you wrote if you could see if Dennis or Tommy would call in.

Again, you just don't get the point, "right hand man" or not, Keith and many others that have been working in the music business for the MANY bands that have broken up do not take "sides" they tend to continue working for a living at a job they enjoy for the business. In this case Styx is a business. Styx continued as a business when a member, John passed away, they continued as a business when Dennis was kicked out. Keith and others were still employed at the business.

I personally don't know Keith, I'm just using him as an example from Froy's comments.

Froy, YOU of all people should know how hard it is to find a job, a job that you enjoy working.

Suite wrote:
If you didn't figure it out by now, there are members of the band (past/present/future) on all sides that actually read this board once in a while.

Froy replied:
Good Im glad they see how a true STYX fan feels.
I have am unreleased interview with Tommy from 96 that I hope to find and use so I don't need him to call.

You’re glad to see how a true STYX fan feels?? What does that mean, who is the true STYX fan in this case??? LOL

Hopefully you can find the unreleased interview from Tommy, it would be nice to hear it!

Suite wrote:
Froy, I mean really, no matter how you feel about everything that happened in the world of Styx,

Froy wrote:
What has happened is the band and all of it's members sold out for cash and left the guy who made them that money left in the basement. If you want to support people like that more power to ya. This is a world of greed and the STYX band are the masters at it.,

All of it’s members “sold out” for cash?? LOL Really? They “sold out” for cash? I’d like to hear your explanation on this one. So after they kicked Dennis out of the band, they received a huge sum of money? All of the members? Is that how that works? If that was the case, I guess the current line-up of Styx really didn’t need to tour since 1999 since they “sold out” for cash.

I do enjoy hearing Tommy sing live, but I have not once had to pay for a current Styx concert ticket. I do love having a great time with my Styx friends that do go to these concerts and that’s what makes any type of concert fun. I do support Dennis and have seen many of his concerts (20+) all over the US.

Besides Styx and all the other 100’s of bands to boot someone out of a band, you’re telling me that I shouldn’t go out and listen to live music or see a band in concert? I guess the ONLY band that I could see would probably be Rush, ZZ Top or U2 since those bands pretty much have the same core members since they became big.

Um, Froy, do you really think “greed” was the reason they kicked Dennis out of Styx?

Suite wrote:
I know everyone has their opinion, but some of these comments that you are posting are just getting old.

Froy wrote:
Just like the current band ey..

I do agree that the current Styx line-ups set-list is pretty old, I’m sure that other people would agree with that one. And it’s “eh” not “ey”

Suite wrote:
This board use to be a lot of fun and filled with a lot of posts, but people just getting tired of the same crap. Notice all the "regulars" that haven't been posting in a long time........ IMO
