Your looking at 100k. Got that estitmate from an agency that handles their bookings. Kind of pricy don't you think?

100k for what? Indoor or outdoor concert? What's the length of the show? I don't think 100k is the standard fee to book the band Styx. It all depends if the show is a "hard" or "soft" ticket type of show. Actually there's a lot to consider on how much the band would get paid.

Suite, I have the feeling the above post was just kind of a bullshit post to get people talking. Thenightbull, it seems, has very little to do.

Hmm.. I heard it was around 50,000 a gig. Thats what one of the promoters paid to bring them to a club here in Edmonton back in 08, and I think thats what the River Cree Casino also paid for them to play here back in September.

I would imagine that the Styx/Reo/Night Ranger tour was asking around 100-125 for the total package, but I could be wrong.

Didn't get into all of that suite. I googled "price to book styx" and i clicked on the first page that came up, called the number and asked for a price quote. But it was for a private event so maybe a normal show is less. Should've put that info in the original post.

Quit being a tool. nightbull is a young guy that is interested in how much Styx charges. It's been talked about quite a few times on this board. BTW, I saw Asia giving a free concert at a lower tier Biloxi casino. I couldn't help but laugh.

Did you take the Twinkies out of your mouth before you started gufawing like an idiot? BTW douche, that is "Asia featuring John Payne" not the real Asia (John Payne was Asia's Lawrence Gowan - except with talent - and kept using the name with a collection of musicians after the real Asia got back together. You might want to compare sales of Asia's latest CD, Phoenix with Cyclorama.

...and nothing should make you laugh more than "Can't Stop Rockin'"

As for Thenightbull, he seems pretty contentious to me. He enjoys stirring shit up and baiting fans of the real Styx.

I priced a band to play a gig for a party. A pretty well known band, but not huge. Not nearly as big as Styx. Four man band with modest staff. The cost was $20,000 for a two hour set. And we had to provide our own PA and Lights.

So I could totally see Styx being $100,000 - especially if they bring their own stage and lights.

It depends on a lot on contegencies as to what they are paid. If it is private gig, $100k is accurate. They will not make residuals off of ticket sales and will not sell merch.

If is a public gig they may take $50k guaranteed and a portion of the gross plus merch.

They get paid less in package tours as much of cost is shared by the other bands and lowers the cost for the individual bands. In the end they make more on package tours if they are successful as all of Styx's have been.

I'm just going to go ahead and pay them $150,000 for a house party. I'll have them play Mr Roboto for 3 hours straight!

Funny avatar robin i should be offended since i used to work there but eh i digress. As far as your opinion on the show goes that's how many other folks feel too. Maybe it shouldin't of had so many episodes otherwise it would still be on. But then again fox airs crap like dullhouse and brothers so i don't think it makes a differance.

we liked it and were very disappointed that it was canceled. yeah, they could have reigned it in a bit with all the additional story-lines, but it was a well done show. didn't see "salvation"

lol robin i know what you mean. The two times i worked their the jobs i had weren't the greatest but i was just fortunate to be working so i didn't complain. I just really hope i could do the jobs that i was doing there somewhere else soon. Hell i'll take anything i can get at this point. It's just really frustrating that's there's nothing out there right now.
