Brees looked a bit like he reverted back to his days at San Diego in this game.

Well, the Cowboys lucked out and closed it out. Saints couldn't muster up that last magical drive. I think this is good for the Saints in the long run this season. Doesn't make them Super Bowl champs automatically, but I really think they are a team that needs to be playing loose to win and I think from their awkward performances in recent weeks against Falcons and the Skins, that they were feeling pressure and unable to play loose. Good game to the Fraud Boys tonight, they did just enough to get the W.

Hey, I didn't take any pleasure in doing so... that's a big blow to the TV market. I was lookin forward to buying myself one of those in a couple years... little outside my budget at the moment.

I had gotten a a 25 inch tube Pioneer right before they went projection only back in 85. What a bummer. Like VHS vs Beta, the inferior product wins again.

I'm still going to say Vikings / Chargers. I see the Colts going 16-0 and getting beat before the Super-Bowl. I just feel their defense will let them down. I think the Saints will get taken down by the Eagles if the cross paths in the playoffs, with Brees being the culprit like he was tonight.

Now for the rest of my picks... John and I both called the Cowboys win.

NE @ BUF - NE, Buffalo is a miserable team

ARI @ DET - ARI rebounds and lights up the scoreboard against the Lions pathetic defense

MIA @ TEN - Dolphins are on a roll... I like them in a tight one

HOU @ STL - Houston

CLE @ KC - VERY tough game to call. I'll go with my Brownies for hometown sentiment

ATL @ NYJ - Another tough one. Atlanta has been a disappointment so far this year. I'll go with them though.

OAK @ DEN - Denver

CIN @ SD - San Diego. I'd like the emotion card John cites a lot more if this were at home in the cold and blustery conditions.

CHI @ BAL - UPSET*** Chicago ****

SF @ PHI - Philly

TB @ SEA - Seattle

GB @ PIT - Pittsburgh

MIN @ CAR - Minn

NYG @ WAS - Washington

While I won't suggest Buffalo is a good team, they're ranked ahead of 10 teams in the NFL, including Carolina and Chicago in the record department! Also, the Patriots have announced that both Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren are out for this game and that is HUGE trouble for the Patriots run defense. I'm starting to smell an upset here!

What the hell is with all of this theater talk? Is this the NFL thread?

Anyway, Thank you Dallas! I was the only one to pick them in my poll and could win a good amount of dough this week since we have a sheet with what teams everyone took. Like John said, this was an obvious pick. This late in the season, 13-0, Cowboys in a reeling must win and the Saints struggling in two road games in a row. The upset was long over due and Dallas was the only shot. Romo is playing well and their defense limited the Saints into field position battle. Dallas's defense looked stout and Ware is a monster at left end. This was a different Saints team that came out the gates against New England on Monday Night. They were fast that night and flying around the ball, last night not so much. Since the N.E game the Saints have been flat but this is good for the long run in my opinion for them to lose. Now they can focus on their post season.

And Nick Folk sucks major balls.

I hope your upset pans through. If Jax loses 1 more game and if Chicago beats Baltimore, and if the Steelers beat Green Bay, the Ravens and Steelers will be fighting for that 6th spot along with Miami. The Steelers/Dolphins game could be a win and your in game IF Chicago beats Baltimore and then somehow the Steelers can remember they are Super Bowl Champions and win these last winnable 3. Could happen, or they could just tank today so I don't have to worry about that stuff and put an end to a teaser, miserable season.8)

Well... the Green Bay pick is somewhat gutsy on my part but you figure something's gotta give for the Steelers at this point. The question about the Ravens game is whether Cutler can play at all in the elements. The Ravens inept offense should be a little more confident than usual after drubbing the miserable Lions, but who knows? I'm not sure how smart of a pick it is on my part, but I'm just feeling a Ravens loss. They simply aren't very good. Remember when some of us thought they were gonna be THE TEAM this year three weeks in? lolz

The Golden Rule in ANY sport: Never let your weakness show

And although I wouldn't neccesarily call it a weakness, ANY team with even an adequate pass rush can beat N.O.....and will.

IMO, the bigger concern right now is their defense is not looking at all like the defense we saw in the first half of the season

Absolutely. Like I said earlier, the Saints have come out completely flat and the last time they showed any form of a dominant defense was against New England on MNF. Ever since then, they seem to have thought they proved it all in that ONE game and ever since then fell flat, esp defensively. This could be a bad trend coming up, they need to come right back out of the gates and scold Tampa Bay next week to avoid any mishaps. This is the problem with going 13-0 and having the media, fans, and monkey on your back. They will respond and probably play better ball now.

New England is looking worse and worse with each snap. The Bills just ate up almost 10 minutes of the clock and only came away with 3 which is a killer because of a false start so that has to be dis heartening. Brady is throwing bad picks week to week and looks so uncomfortable sitting in the pocket.

It's not snowing here in Boston any longer, so I'm sure that it's not snowing in Pittsburgh. Snow on the field isn't an issue. I would go with Rodgers.

I think you are dismissing that Palmer is going to be playing in front of a "hometown" crowd, Souther California is his old stomping ground, so he will really work hard to achieve.

I guess we will see...

I'm not dismissing anything. Palmer might well have a great game on the heels of the death of a teammate. That said, I believe in playing the better player, and Rodgers is a far better QB than Palmer is!

MAJOR kudos to Jerome Harrison for posting the third best rushing game in NFL history and to Josh Cribbs for his record-setting day returning kicks ... unreal game from those two. Cribbs also SHOULD have had a touchdown pass off a Hail Mary from the Wildcat.

God Manweenie is stupid for playing that bum Jamal Lewis all year. If we woulda cut him as rumored we might have turned out to be a half decent football team

If the Raiders had benched Jamawful 4 games earlier. I think they'd be in the playoff picture. The Raiders don't look bad with Journeymen Charlie Frye or Gradkowski. The Raiders are up 10-6 on Denver threatening again late in the 1st half.

God, Cleveland sports writers are mental midgets. After calling for Mangini's head on a platter all season long, all of a sudden he deserves "time." There may be an argument to be made for that (I don't buy it personally). Revolving coaching door sucks, but there's no way I believe in this guy. The Browns have been competitive for one reason only: Josh Cribbs.

The only reason other plays are getting made is because bums that Mangini insisted on playing got hurt, forcing him to put in the supposed "reserves," like Jerome Harrison, who just turned in the running performance of the year for the entire league. He's a fuckin zero, get him the hell out.

Holy fuck. You guys are fucking DELUSIONAL. I have you talking about Oakland and the playoffs in the same sentence and Matt calling the pathetic 3-11 Girl Scouts "competitive"

You both need to step away from the crack pipe, IMMEDIATELY. I'm disgusted at how bad my hometown team is and they're 9-5 and in first place, and you guys are talking about some of the worse teams in the NFL as being potential "playoff" teams or "competitive". WOW. I hope you both have drinking problems, so there is at least a rational explanation for this insanity!
