Read what I wrote. I never said you mentioned the playoffs. I said that my Oakland friend mentioned the playoffs, and that you called the Girl Scouts "competitive", which is simply RIDICULOUS. They're fucking 3-11 and one of the worse teams in the NFL. The word competitive doesn't belong in the same sentence with the Browns!

I said if they had benched JaWalrus earlier they would be in the race! They are 2 games from the 7-7 teams "still alive".
They happen to be 3-2 since benching JaWalrus. If Gradkowski had started the season I think the Raiders would be 7-7 maybe even 8-6 at this point.

Hey RWF, maybe Bruce "Marino" Gradkowski can help his favorite hometown team and beat Baltimore's ASS in the final, thus putting the Steelers in if we win out. Make it happen my man.. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

I think he's out with his 2 injured knees! I don't see the Raiders winning in Baltimore though.

Bet you didn't see them winning in Pittsburgh or Denver either...there is a reason they actually play the games...

That's right. The way you were talking, I thought he was cleared and was playing. My bad. Thought so.

Miami and the Jets losing was GREAT today, but we needed Balty to lose also even more, but the kicker right now is Denver losing, so believe it or not, Pitt wins out we could be playing for a spot in Miami! Believe!!!!

Your team was not so lucky though! :D Bring on RumRunners!!!!

Haha, it's all you guys. I wasn't remotely near a computer Saturday so I couldn't check my team. I would of obviously had Witten since Shockey was questionable, but it doesn't matter, I got spanked! 8)

It was definitely a catch. On another note, here we go with Brett "Retiring Bitch" Favre coughing up a fucking furball. This is fucking embarrassing if you're a Vikings fan

I've always been a Vikings fan, and I would have been happy with just "embarrassing"... That performance was well past that point. The Vikings couldn't find their asses with both hands and a map. They do not deserve to be in the playoffs if they're playing like that...

You can slowly see the wheels coming off. But for a few key drops by Cinci's defensive players, he woulda been an interception machine last Sunday too and that game would have had a completely different tenor. Mark my words, no Vikings in the Super Bowl, hell no. Fuck Favre©

At the time of the onside kick I was so fueled and furious I didn't know what the hell to do with myself but as the elements played out I actually applaud Tomlin for his decision and here's why. This was an absolute SHOOTOUT between both offense's. One couldn't stop the other and that was pretty damn evident all game. There was well over 3:00 left at the point of the onside. Tomlin knew we couldn't stop them regardless if kicking it deep or not, so he gambled with time on the clock for a surprise onside, which almost damn near worked. They scored quick, we got the ball with time left and went down and won it with 3 seconds. The exact worst case scenario for Tomlin if we didn't recover. I turned to my girlfriend and said we were going to go the length and win the game. Crazy ending, crowd went bonkers. Thrilling, chilling, and wrenching all at the same time. Ben was absolutely amazing. 503 yards and 3 td's! Only the 3rd QB in history to throw for over 500 yards without OT and to throw 3 TD's with no picks. What a performance. Game of the week and another showdown with Baltimore next week! But yes, good game lights, two respected franchises going at it. Class act= Green Bay.

GB = always class act win or lose... ;-) that was a shoot out... dang BTW... missing AL HARRIS really showed in this game!!! The game was lost really in quarter 1 with GB offense going two three and outs early... and missing the field goal early in the game... Now I am hoping that Steelers make the playoffs... in the NFC I say still watch for Warner and the Cards... depending on seeding...

Really it was lost with allowing Ben to throw for 3 Td's and 503 yards passing and simply not defending the endzone with 3 ticks left! (That pass was PERFECT and non defend-able. Hardest part was the feet and I'm still amazed Wallace kept them in even before the catch was made.)That's the mistake in a shootout, you MUST score at will. The Steelers had the edge with kicking FG's. This is the ONLY way I see Jeff Reed being resigned, only because he can kick in the terrible Heinz Field, he just can't kick it deep on kickoffs and that kills us. But as far as Crosby, I give him props. Kicking into the open end at Heinz Field is a death trap and I knew all along he was never going to make that kick. Great game. Can't say that enough.

What IS embarrassing is Adrian. at or about 3.0 yds per carry? Disgraceful. No running game=no passing game. THAT'S why Favre looked bad. Cause AP didn't show up, and the Carolina 'D' did.

On a side note: I'm so tired of all the accolades that these supposed beast running backs get from the NFL fans/media: AP, LT(drop that moniker there is only ONE LT)...etc. These guys show up 2 or 3 seasons, then they disappear. It is not like the old days. LT is...has been done for a couple of years now. And AP IS done now. I'll say it again: Give me an elusive back anyday of the week. Fuck these north/south fuckers.

Yeah, what's up with Petersen? He's looked crappy for the last couple of weeks. Is he hurt? I don't follow the Vikes too closely, so I haven't heard.

Week by week the Vikings and their offense has SLOWLY transformed more and more into Favre's team. Obviously it's pick your poison. Either let a dynamic player like AP beat you, or put your bets on the old man beating you and that's exactly how defense's are going about it. Favre has not looked THAT great the last couple, but most of the wins this season had a LOT to do with Favre's arm rather than Peterson running and that's how teams would like to beat the Vikes. Too bad Favre can still beat you straight up. They must find their running game again if they want to complete an outstanding season thus far.

AND THIS IS NOT FAVRES BEST TEAM HE HAS PLAYED AT... that 96 PACKER TEAM PLAYED EVERY WEEK AT TOP LEVEL... due to one guy... REGGIE WHITE... HE PUT THAT SEASON ON HIM...
there were no divas on that team... win or lost they played with heart... I dont see the Vikings doing playing with heart as the season has gone on...

I disagree....in the Superbowl against the Pats.....one guy and one guy only won that game: Mr. Rent-a-player himself, Desmond Howard. If not for his return yardage the Pats win in a cakewalk.

We agree that Tomlinson has been done for quite some time. He's not even an average runner at this point and a huge pussy when it comes to toughness. He could learn a thing or two from his QB. As for Peterson...the dude isn't close to being done. That said, he can look VERY average a lot more than he should. He fumbles the ball way too much and disappears for games at a time. I've been telling anyone who would listen over the past two seasons that I'd take Chris Johnson of the Titans over Peterson all day long.

As for Tomlin's decision for the onside kick, I agree with Travis 100%. The guy is being second guessed all over the place, and there would be a fire Tomlin rally (I believe a Shitsburgh fan on this board already started one) had the Steelers not won that game. Why the fuck do you want to give the ball back to an offense that you damn well know you have ZERO shot of stopping? Between the horrendous defense the Steelers have been playing and the element of surprise, I applaud the guy for taking a shot.

In spite of last night's performance, that 96 Packers team wasn't close to as talented as this Vikings team. This Vikings team has a whole lot of guys who are stout on the defensive side of the ball. The 96 Packers didn't have a RB close to Peterson, and the receivers on this team are better as well. That Packers team won that Super Bowl on the feet of Desmond Howard, period, end of story. The 2007 Patriots may not have won the Super Bowl, but it doesn't change the fact that it was FAR more talented than their three championship teams were. The NFL is the one sport where the best team doesn't always win.

Edgar Bennet might not be AS FLASHY as PETERSON...but he gained more than 35 yards and 19 yards.....when they lost... he played HIS DAMN HEART OUT...

THAT PACKER TEAM had BLOOD, GUTS, HEART AND THE WILL... check this article out about Favre and Childress and the offense...

just a snip it from ESPN.COM.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Vikings failed to get anything going offensively in a 26-7 loss to Carolina on Sunday night. Adrian Peterson totaled just 35 yards rushing, while the Panthers sacked Brett Favre four times and knocked him down on several other occasions.

By the third quarter, Minnesota coach Brad Childress had enough of Favre taking shots, and despite the Vikings clinging to a tenuous 7-6 lead, tried to pull his QB from the contest. That, of course, did not go over well with Favre.

"Yeah, there was a heated discussion, I guess you would call it," Favre said after the game, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. "We were up 7-6 at the time. No secret, I was getting hit a little bit. I felt the pressure on a lot of plays. We had seven points. So I think everyone in the building was like, 'They're not moving the ball, they're not getting points.' Brad wanted to go in a different direction and I wanted to stay in the game.

"We were up 7-6. Yeah, it's not 70-6, but we're up 7-6. So I said, 'I'm staying in the game, I'm playing.' I don't know if it was exactly to protect me, or we had seven points, I'm not sure. That's his call. But we talked it out. We didn't have time, I didn't have time to sit there and say why or what. My response was, 'We've got to win this ballgame and I want to stay in and do whatever I can.' Now, unfortunately, I didn't do that, but that was my intention."

During that rant, Favre hinted that Childress wanted to bench him because the Vikings offense we struggling -- "I don't know if it was exactly to protect me, or we had seven points ..." -- a sentiment that Childress himself mentioned, as well, after the game.

"We were having a conversation about how the game was heading at that point in time and what we needed to do to head it the other way," Childress said.

Philly was my Super Bowl pick before the season to represent the NFC and I'm sticking to it. The Vikes and Saints are the obvious front runners but this might be Philly's year to get it done. As far the AFC, I don't have an ounce of a clue to how that's going to play out. Every team but the Colts and Chargers seem to be mediocre and even the Colts and Chargers are beatable by every team beneath them. New England is so banged up and atrocious right now, but they are still scary as hell when they are mentioned in anything that has to do with January. Going to be tough to call ANYTHING at this time.

Edgar Bennett wasn't even the leading rusher in the Super Bowl. Dorsey Levens was. Bennett averaged about 2 yards per carry. Listen, I'm a huge Reggie White fan and am sad that he left this planet way too early. That said, the 96 Packers simply didn't have the endless weapons at every position that this Vikings team has. Jared Allen is every bit as dominant on the D line as Reggie White was during his best years. The difference is that White was that Packers defense and Allen is just one piece of the Vikings defense. Desmond Howard (who was a complete bust of a player in NFL after coming out of Michigan with all the hype in the world) averaged 40 yards on his kickoff returns, which was THE difference maker in field position in the Super Bowl against the Patriots that season, and in my opinion the reason the Packers won that game. That's to say nothing of a long punt return (I believe it was 35 or 40 yards) he had in the same game. Player for player, I'd take this Vikings team all day long. That 96 Packers team was a good team but they were never dominant.

Here's the Steelers possibilities at this moment.

First off, the Steelers MUST win out to finish 9-7. Assuming we win out, 4 of the following 5 things MUST happen as well:

1) Jaguars lose 1 game
- at New England
- vs Cleveland
- One loss will put the Jaguars at 8-8, where the Steelers will be ahead of them due to a better record. Otherwise if they win out and finish 9-7, they own the tiebreaker over the Steelers.

2) Jets lose 1 game
- at Indianapolis
- Cincinnati

- One loss will put the Jets at 8-8, where the Steelers will be ahead of them due to a better record. Otherwise if they win out and finish 9-7, they own the tiebreaker over the Steelers.

3) Ravens lose both games
- at Pittsburgh
- at Oakland
- Both losses will put the Ravens at 8-8, where the Steelers will be ahead of them due to a better record. If they Ravens only lose one and finish 9-7, they will own the tiebreaker against the Steelers for having a better divisonal record.

4) Broncos lose 1 game + Texans lose 1 game *OR* Broncos lose both games
- at Philadelphia
- vs Kansas City
- One loss will put the Broncos at 9-7. This will force a 3-way tiebreaker which the Texans will win, unless the Texans lose one game. Alternatively, the Broncos can simply lose out.

5) Texans lose 1 game *OR* Titans win out
- at Miami
- vs New England

- Losing one will put the Texans at 8-8. Otherwise if they win out & finish 9-7, they own the tiebreaker over the Steelers unless the Titans win out. If the Titans win out, it forces a 3-way tiebreaker in which the Steelers would win.

As for the rest of the teams in the hunt:

Titans
- The best they can finish is 9-7, even if they win out. We own the tiebreaker over them for beating them this year. They are no threat to our playoff hopes whatsoever. The Titans winning out will really help the Steelers, as it will force a 3-way tierbreaker between the Steelers, Titans, & Texans if all 3 teams win out. In this scenario, the Steelers get in over both teams. Also, if there is a 3 way 9-7 tie between Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Denver, the Steelers and Ravens get the #5 and #6 seeds. This is very possible for the Steelers to make it if we can win 2 games in a row.

Dolphins
- We play them in Week 17. If we win, the best they can finish is 8-8. They're really out of the playoff picture. It really helps us if they beat the Texans next week, as it eliminates Houston.

I'm not sure what team you're watching that's giving you so much confidence. The pass rush is just one of MANY issues on this New England team. You do realize that they scored a whopping 3 points in the entire second half against Buffalo, right? You do realize that Brady threw for about 100 yards, right? You realize that the likes of Matt Moore, Chad Henne, and Mark Sanchez have looked like Dan Marino, John Elway, and Joe Montana against this defense, right? The playcalling on this team couldn't get worse if they tried. They don't spread the ball around, AT ALL. They come into a game and determine who is going to get the ball before the first pass is thrown, and that simply doesn't work. When Brady and the Patriots were at their best, they threw the ball all over the field to whomever was open. That's not happening this season. They're incredibly predictable and VERY easy to stop. If I were a coach on the other side of the field, I would have zero problem shutting this Patriots team down, whereas in seasons past, they were virtually impossible to shut down. Honestly, Patriots fans look like fucking dopes predicting that this team is going anywhere near the Super Bowl this season. This is a VERY average team and I'm stunned that they've won as many games as they've won.

You fuckers in Shitsburgh are really grasping at straws putting this convoluted scenario together. Honestly, I think the Steelers are going to struggle against the Ravens and it wouldn't stun me to see the Dolphins give them a tough time. I can see the Jets losing both games, so you should be fine there. I doubt that the Jaguars lose to Cleveland, and I wouldn't be stunned to see them beat the Patriots, after giving the Colts all they could handle. Although the Ravens will probably lose to the Steelers, I can't see them losing to Oakland (unless they are completely out of it and not playing for anything at that point). The Broncos are beating Philly and may not even be good enough to beat Kansas City at this point (although they should). The Texans are the interesting scenario. If they beat Miami this week, they could be in a really good position against the Patriots in the final week. If the Patriots seeding is cemented after week 15, you won't even see Brady play in that final game. Belichick will rest as many guys as he can and simply hand Houston the game on a platter.

On another note, the teams that won't be a factor when the playoffs begin:

Bengals
Cardinals
Titans (if they get there)
Steelers (if they get there)
Patriots (they're in)

I like the Eagles from the NFC against the Chargers in the AFC for the Super Bowl. Eagles win it all.
