As for what he says about Dennis, I think that he put it pretty well.
What's he supposed to say?
Why do people make these wanky "connections"?
If Todd said "That ego-maniac douchebag" then you'd have a point Hig, but "former keyboard player"? Big Deal.
I didn't realize Stamos took over the drums. Thought he just did percussion for that video.
To call Mike Love the Beach Boys is ridiculous. That'd be like if JY had a complete other band and called it Styx, which, by the way, is not what's happening.
Speaking of Todd, his drum video is awesome.
Suchermann having the same impact as when Tommy joined? You have got to be fucking kidding me. Put down the Kool-Aid, it makes you look like a moron.
Sucherman is a sub filling in with guys 20 years older than him because he isn't a good enough drummer to get a gig with anyone his age (or any band that has had a hit in the past 20 years...)
Actually man, Todd is probably the most respected member of the band to the music community at large. The original members of Styx have never been rated as much from fellow instrumentalists, the trades were slow to cover the band and relatively few musicians cite Styx as an influence. Todd is a hundred times as good a drummer as he needs to be to do this gig, which isn't even that challenging from a drum perspective. These are straight rock songs in very straight time for the most part. Todd can play anything from that to very complex jazz. His list of session credits makes Tommy and JY look like amateurs at the Moose Lodge open mic night. He took this gig becaue it was a high-profile gig that paid well and provided great exposure, and he's also a lifelong Styx fan. He could have any gig he wanted in the world. Very few (or none) of them would pay what Styx pays or play at the level of visibility that Styx plays, so why jump ship on a good gig? When the band comes to an end he'll have his pick of every gig in the world, both live and studio. He's played with people the other Styx guys can't even imagine getting to play with, like Sting and Billy Joel, artists of that stature. He's in a different universe than the other guys as a musician. That doesn't mean you have to like the band, but seriously, it's not Todd's fault Dennis isn't there anymore. Not that he misses him per se, LOL, but he's not to blame for whatever it is you're projecting onto him. He doesn't hire and fire people. He's a great drummer who gets to travel the world playing for appreciative fans . . . what's so bad about that? Hardly seems like something to hate somebody over.
