That's absolutely true, but if you look at the bands that are in there that aren't justified by real success, the reason they are there is because critics support them. That is not the case with Damn Yankees. Critics hate Styx, hate Night Ranger and hate Nugent, so DY has no shot. Plus the fact that it really is not that important a group, LOL. That's a band that I like but at the same time I can see clearly that it doesn't belong. Hell, as much as I like Styx I'm not sure Styx belongs in the Hall of Fame. There are a lot of bands that should go in way before, like Yes for instance. Styx is way down the list for me even though I obviously like the band a lot. When they put in Yes, Rush, Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, KISS, ELP, Humble Pie, Alice Cooper, Linda Ronstadt . . . then we'll talk about Styx, LOL. Plus Wenner will have to die first. Until that happens, Feargal Sharkey has a better shot. Or Falco. Or Tiffany. Or Vanilla Ice.

Not that long ago, VH1 had Damn Yankees on one of their "Worst" lists. I think they were popular with some people, but perhaps even more ridiculed by the critics than StyxJourneyNightRanger etc. All of those groups made one or more of the VH1 "Best" lists. Not that any of that counts for much, but it is always better to be included on the good list as opposed to the bad list in my view.
