I simply like Stover because he is easy on my eyes.
Crucify me if you must Mister but I've just never cared for Crosby.
He did win it for us last night though so I will applaud him for that.

Just sayin', without Sid the kid, Canada is 1-1, not 2-0. He is the next Gretzky. 22 years old, captain of the Penguins, owner of the hardest trophy to win in sports, best player on what may be arguably the best ever professional team ever assembled in sports history, and carrying the weight of an entire nation...oh yeah, did I mention he is only 22?

I wanna see Crosby and Ovechkin in the final game.....

Nobody is the NEXT Gretzky cause there will be no one like him....NO ONE! ... back in 94, I thought Forsberg was gonna be the next Gretzky,,, so did many others,,, Forsberg is one of the greatest but as we all know he never became the next Gretzky,,,, nor did many others like Lindros, Jarg, Sedin bros, Kariya and even the almighty Lemieux,,,,,, Gretzky is Gretzky,,, there will be no one like him, even though kids like Crosby & Ovechkin show A LOT of talent that The Great One lacked when he was their age....

We'll see.... :P

Go and check the list of the records that THE GREAT ONE set. Its almost impossible to break EVERY single one of them,,, and for Crosby to become the next Gretzky, he has to not only break all those records, but also set some new ones. And you act like I am against him. I am not. he is a helluva player and has a very bright future,,, but a tough goal to achieve too....
Forsberg wouldve had a much better time becoming the next Gretzky had he not gone through a series of injuires ,,,,,Maybe the Kid will be the next Foppa :)

It sure does !! Forsberg was 18/19 when he stunned the world with his moves and his skills,,,, and really made heads turn , the way he scored on Canada in the Gold medal game shoot out, at age of 20 ....
Crosby has the potentials,,, but a tough goal to achieve,,, thats all I said,, It will take A LOT to become the next Gretzky,,,, possible but almost impossible :)

I think Behshad's point is the records Gretz owns- most will never be touched. He owns more records than any other athlete in sports.

92 goals in ONE year? Jesus
50 in 39 games?

The list goes on and on.

My point was Crosby carries himself like gretz did and takes on all of the responsibility that comes with hockey in Canada. the pressure is unreal.

Well that's why I said "we'll see". Not because I think you are against him. I only used those words because they are your favorite words you picked up from your buddy madsplash   I agree with you though, he COULD do it, but yes, it would be tough. That's what we'll see meant :)

Yet he's still whining about not winning. Good lord, this is like Surya Bonaly all over again.

He misstepped four landings that I saw. He thinks because he did a quad (whch is not a requirement) that he should get the gold. Dumbass, the rest of your performance needs to be gold worthy, also. This is JUST like Bonaly in the '94 world championships (the french one who refused to stand on the podium and cried because she got silver and not gold...). She thought because she did some goofy backflip that she was the best skater, even though overall, she was rough in her transitions and kind of a rigid skater overall.

Poor sports. Again, no room for that. Bye bye, Plushenko. Back to retirement with you.

I took joy in the annoyance and boredom on his face while the OUR national anthem played  He can say whatever he wants, but he cant take away that moment 8)

I noticed that too. Disrespectful and glaring poor sportsmanship. I took much joy in his not winning gold after the fit he pitched the other day, even before last night's competition.

I SWEAR I even saw him yawn once! But I just laughed cause it didn't matter once you saw Evan's smile and the gold on his neck :)

A trip down memory lane. I remember watching this with my mom. The most stunning ice dancing I have ever seen or remembered from the Olympics. The amazing choreography and the closeness of their dancing with little space between them was breathtaking. The whole routine was stunning.

No one will ever touch Gretzky's records unless the league tells the other players not to hit whomever is the next up and coming sniper/person who skates in Gretzky's Office. Like I said before, his stats are all inflated due to the fact that he never got touched.

Yeah thats what it was, ,,,, Gretzky got hit and fought back when needed.,...And the reason he wasnt tackled and touch as much as others was a) he was too fast for them to catch up with him and b)the opposing D was always trying to figure out how to stop his smooth plays, cause going at him wasnt always the best as he would deke around them and go one on one with the goalie and usually put the biscuit in the basket....

He's such a cutie in his after interview. I couldn't look for a second b/c he stayed back and it didn't look like there was any way to regain a spot in even third place and then he was like Rocky with his comeback, picking off the two guys.

You freaks buried my Olympics topic with all your random horseshitting around. Stop it.

Now I have a question. Where are these athletes getting these flags they all hold up when they win? (see avatar)... I'm probably not watching close enough, but as far as I can tell... they seem to be producing them from thin air... they cross the finish line, you never see a flag handoff, but in two seconds, they have one.

Random.
