Styx had an uncanny ability not to release the right song as a single (especially their third single) on many albums...so here are the Styx songs that IMO would have made great hit records - catchy hooks, memorable tunes, and strong lyrics that would have made them prime material for the top 10. These are just the ones off the big albums (A&M - Equinox through Edge) Agree or not?

I would take out All In A Days Work. I like Glen but his voice (which I like) just didn't fit Styx.
"This Old Man" is one of the most consistently underrated Styx songs. Its probably in my top 3 Styx songs.

Cyclorama is much underappreciated.

One with Everything is the song I was really thinking about and is better. Sucherman's drumming is a highlight.

"Haven't We Been Here Before" was a stupid, stupid move. I personally have always thought it was better than "Don't Let It End". I also would have tried out "Double Life". Maybe J.Y. hadn't been given a single since "You Need Love", but damn; this would have been the song to try.

"Lights" would have been good, too. "Cornerstone" had several tracks that would have been successful singles had they been released, and/or, released in the right sequence. After the rock hits of "Pieces Of Eight", I have always thought that "Borrowed Time" should have been the lead from "Cornerstone". I mean, we went from "Renegade" to "Babe". Really? I would have done: "Borrowed Time", and then depending on the success of that, I would have done either "Lights" or "Babe", and then "First Time". "Babe" would have been a hit whether it was the first or third. They should have waited. Also, were they only allowed to have three singles? There was certainly enough time between "Cornerstone" and "PT" to release four.

since boat on the river is the biggest song they ever had outside of the US....not releasing it in the US was silly in my opinion.

You didn't realize that there were singles of Cyclorama??!! ALL the kids were waaaay into those rockin' tunes. I remember seeing kids, on their way to sock-hops blaring those hit singles out of their hotrods.
Popcultural historians usually refer to those years as the "cyclo years". Murals of the album cover adorn subway walls and alley ways. It was a CRAZE, I tell ya!
