STYX on FOX network today prior to NASCAR race

they televised styx performing renegade live. i'm sure there will be a link on youtube or hulu or something...

chuck was there, saw a familiar face or two in the audience. the crowd seemed to be having a great time (but i think it was partially due to the tv cameras swooping overhead. LOL)

still, it was nice to see the band on live tv. :D

Here's the link to Renegade.

And Froy was right, only a couple of people showed up. Apparently nobody cares anymore.

Sure hang out in a crowd of 50k that came to see a nascar event and then take credit for them coming to see you
Good one.

And then play the same damn song over and over
How many Renegades are out there?

Anyone pay to see this?
If they did there would be nobody there.

Interesting mention....Tim McGraw performed before the Daytona 500 in the center of the frontstretch, and performed muliple songs. Not sure where the stage styx performed was at.

I wonder how much they make for a gig like this. NASCAR, I would think a nice paycheck for, what, an hour's work? How long was their set?

I think it's about the same pay they would get for doing a corporate gig.
When Foreigner did their Nascar stint, the exposure actually propelled their Greatest Hits back on the charts, I'll have to see if anything Styx related makes it on to Billboard next week.

I have to say, it did not seem like the best performance of Renegade to me. Maybe just a bad day. I have seen others (notably a REALLY good video of them in Rancho Mirage this January) that are dead on. JY has to clean up the solo a little. The melody right before the acapella section sounds sloppy lately.

I did not realize that. Could have been that then I guess.

I'm looking forward to the new tour. When I saw them with REO, they were on fire! You could tell they were into it. (When I saw them open 1st for Def Leppard, they were very stale. It really does effect a band like Styx when they are on first in the daylight.)

Also it was their first gig in a month can't expect them to be "on" 24/7 sometimes it just happens that way.
