The only Journey with arnie boy you have seen is on YouTube, be my guess.

wrong-I saw them in Hot-lanta in September 2008 at Chastain Ampitheater with Heart and Cheap Trick. I even shelled out 35bucks on a tshirt with the band on the front. When Mrs.ScarabGator pushed her boobsters together poor ole arnie boy (in the center) disappeared.....thats what dreams became made of.

If you think boobs being pushed together and arnie boy disappearing are what dreams are made of, you live in a pretty warped world. hahaha

It is warped but between the missing arnie boy and Mrs.Scarab's boobsters it was a good night.

Dude, what's with the hate on Pineda? I don't get. I certainly don't fawn over him like everyone on here does, and he isn't great, but he is solid and seems like a good guy. Explain the hate. I'd love to now why.

Oh, and I hate to say it, but if you are going to trot Augeri out here and have him go head to head with Pineda, then I don' know what o say to you. It isn't even close.

dean, I dont get into people singing for a great american rock band and they cant even pronounce the language. And if you only knew the embarassment I took a year ago before the Super Bowl when that idiot looked like he was having a damn seizure on stage.....everyone at my party says "this is Journey????...the same ones that did that song "Dont stop believing"......and they arent even passionate Journey fans. Very casual. I tried to make excuses for them...... and I totally believe Augeri blows him out of the water. At least he never embarassed me.

So finding out that someone lipped wasn't more embarrasing to you than a bad day at the superbowl? At least the vocals at SB were live.

Ugh....but it was bad!

Yeah, like nobody in Rock n Roll ever had a bad day before him. Look, he went on to redeem himself in spades throughout the 2009 concert season. Think anyone will give credit for that?

Hey some love it some don't...that is what makes the world go around.

I will give him credit for sure. He sure as Hell sounds god. Powerful, strong, he definitely has the voice. As a front man though, I think he is extremely lacking. Jumping around doesn't make a good front man. He needs to work on this part of his game. In my opinion, Augeri was a better front man, singing excluded, and Augeri wasn't that good. Pineda can improve though and I would expect him to.

But the talent is there and he learns quickly, which is why I don't understand why the rest of the band hasn't invested more in his polishing. Maybe they don't see it the same way others do and are satisfied with the status quo. I don't blame Arnel for it completely.

No but what he lacked he made up for....and he got better as the years went on...he was the VOICE of Journey and that made him the BIG shoes to fill.

JSS owns the stage...I really believe that.

You just hit on something. Perhaps I am not qualified to comment on this because I no longer really follow them, but Pineda has to stake a claim for himself. Schon and Cain aren't going to "invest" in his polishing IMO. Hell, they have but a few years left at most. The last think Schon wants is for someone else to get more spotlight. You Schon defenders can come at me all you want, but you can't deny he is a fucking stage hog.

Steve - anyone can forgive a bad day, but it was AP's actions prior to the show that got to me. He refused to make Journey his priority in one of their most watched performances in front of millions of casual fans. A great performance would have given a lot of the doubters a reason to support Journey again. Instead we saw that performance. I lost a lot of my enthusiasm for AP that day, although I felt bad for him after when he saw the feedback. I'm sure he learned a lot and I certainly hope he remembers.

Deano, the difference with Arnel this U.S. tour compared to the year before was a huge improvement. He had so much more confidence on stage this year and his energy was much for contained and really just right and very infectious. He was even much improved even from the beginning for the year, like the Manilla and Japan clips, to the Summer tour. Every one of my friends that are Journey fans noticed the improvement.

You fuckin' weird assed Loons start fingering yourselves as soon as Perry opened his mouth. The Wigglers were too fat to do that standing up. The folds of beef in their arms kept getting in the way of the vertical friction movement needed. So guess the Loons are better than the Wigglers.

Sorry, Gator, you have the hate on. You said different in 2008. We have posted lots of great clips and you don't want to admit Arnel is ever good. So fine. I may not like JSS for Journey, but I can admit there were some songs I enjoyed him on.

Yeah ... like when they arranged the intro for Arnel to come in last over the past 2 years to a rousing ovation. Seems to me like the last thing Neal's worried about is the "spotlight." He just wants to write, record and play live ... just like he always has.

At my concert Arnel was the star and Neal seemed to enjoy it just fine, b/c Neal gets to shine in his solos and Deen gets to shine. It's a great band to watch, and Neal gets plenty of face time, but Arnel is the star for most concert-goers. For me it's Arnel and Neal, and much love for Deen. Even Jon.

LOL. If it makes you feel better thinking that, well then ok. You are delusional if you think Schon doesn't want to be the star of the stage. Come on now, you're better than that. I understand your pro Journey/Neal stance, but this is just a ridiculous defense. During the Classic years, it was Perry's stage, only because he commanded it, and Schon couldn't compete for the spotlight. I think Perry shared it quite well actually, but there is always going to be a star..there needs to be.

Apparently Neal has a big problem with letting Arnel be the star. Here is the evidence:

Yeah, like nobody in Rock n Roll ever had a bad day before him. Look, he went on to redeem himself in spades throughout the 2009 concert season. Think anyone will give credit for that?

I will give him credit for sure. He sure as Hell sounds god. Powerful, strong, he definitely has the voice. As a front man though, I think he is extremely lacking. Jumping around doesn't make a good front man. He needs to work on this part of his game.

Agreed....he needs to work on it....he has really BIG shoes to fill.

Who's shoes? I don't think Perry was all that great as a front man either. Solid yes, but IMO, not great.

All he had to do was show up and bring the voice ...he was amazing!!

Thank YOU!!!

You fuckin' weird assed Loons start fingering yourselves as soon as Perry opened his mouth. The Wigglers were too fat to do that standing up. The folds of beef in their arms kept getting in the way of the vertical friction movement needed. So guess the Loons are better than the Wigglers.

Oh where to start with that^^^^^^MG he is all yours!

Sorry, LMAO!!!!
The wiggler remark was harsh!!
