to be fair to Nora, she didn't say she agreed with it, if i read that right, just that she read that comment someplace... I think her point in repeating it was that it was silly. And it is. I swear, some of these people see Perry in the butter pattern on their toast and will want to write a whole thread about it. Jesus.

I agree. Life went on after Perry in this band, like it or not. And the Loons don't like it, so that's where all that comes from. It's silly really. I used to be like that, in some ways, and I did my fair share of joke-cracking on the subsequent lineups too, but I finally pulled my head out of my tailpipe and gave things a shot, in the least. Some I liked and some not so much. But I've seen loon comments such as "If it isn't Perry I'm not going to listen..." just shows that no matter what, Perry is GOD and you end up with all the crying about how he was shafted and everyone else sucks. And the same thing happened with the other singers, although maybe not to such an obsessive degree (well, except for some of the current arguments about what stellar people these guys are

Then there was the chaos and mayhem and epic drama that divided the fanbase in all directions. And feel however you (I mean 'you' in general, not specifically you, Dean) want about it, it happened. No one was without responsibility in all that mayhem, but you always have one side trying to demonize the other no matter what or who the argument is about.

I agree with the pinhead thing too. Not all, but a huge number, jumped on board because of who and what Arnel was and don't know of what they speak about the band from any point before mid-2007. If it wasn't a feel-good rags to riches story of a man from a different land, it wouldn't have nearly the attention it's gotten. And this is not to take anything away from Arnel as a person or singer... but it is what it is.
I'm just middle of the road I guess. I don't fully defend the Perry side because A) I caught up on all this mayhem 8 years after the fact B) I don't really care all that much what he did or why that lead to the end of his tenure, I mean, he made his choices for whatever reason and obviously a lot of people feel they weren't great ones, but I don't really think his goal was to purposely ruin the band the way it's made out - that's the only reason I ever say anything at all, because I think of how ridiculous that sounds ... plus it was 12 years ago now, so whatever. That's the other level of obsession I don't get - the people who are STILL pounding on that one because they hate the guy so much for "wrecking" the band.
I'm probably harder on the band over the later occurrences because I was here, watching that go down firsthand, twice within a year. And it made the band look bad. So the same argument about wrecking the band is made by a lot of people toward the remaining members over those situations.
and I still think "harvey heat tiles" is funny.
