I would like to think Canada "won" the Olympics. Not as many overall medals as the USA but 14 Golds? To me, that's much better than a shitload of Bronze.

Behshad, I have never seen you insert your foot into your mouth like this....Crosby is a hero, a star and the face of the game. He is the "Next One."

I can care less about Olympic Hockey, it's not what it USE to be when the Olympics were average joes who represented their country rather than having NHL players make up the vast majority of the rosters, so the feeling to me is subdued. Congrats to Canada for sure, but I'm cheerin for Pittsburgh pride right now.

He is a spoiled overrated overpaid kid.

He OWED the team that goal. As many chances as he fucked up. As invisible that he's been throughout this entire tournament. He had to put that goal in. A goal that any player in that position wouldve put in. It was because of his fuck up earlier that this game went to OT. So I hardly see him as a HERO for redeeming himself and puttin the goal in 15 mins later than hevshoupd have.

( if he was "the next one" , he wouldve been noticed a lot more on the ice. He's got a long way to go )

I'm here. I'm calm (now). LOL

LOL if I was home I'd post that little dancing smilie....happy camper here!! Great game played by both teams! I'll never understand how anybody can think this isn't the most entertaining/intense sport to watch.

Both mens and womens hockey ended the same....Canada, US, Finland.

Yup - even with all the 'prancing around' that goes on, and let's not forget - they're not 'real athletes', after all

Dude, are you being serious? Back when the the "regular Joe's" played, it was completely unfair. Let me tell you why it was unfair. The USSR considered it's players amateurs and the US and Canada's amateurs were either college players or minor leaguer's. So in essence, Canada and the US were at a complete disadvantage to all of Europe, the USSR, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Finland, all of them. I for one think this was the best tournament in sports history. The NHL has to be pleased with the exposure and hockey in general shined. How can an average fan not be excited at what they saw? I try to get people to watch but they say it's boring. That I will never understand. You couldn't script it any better except I think Canada would have liked to win the gold against Russia rather than the US. See, the USA's biggest rival is Canada. I don't think Canada sees the US as it's hated biggest threat. They hate Russia. That is the only thing that could have been more memorable..CAN vs Russia, however, the USA participation in the final game sure was great for the NHL and viewership. This was huge for the NHL. Now ask yourself, can the Summer Games, and in particular basketball, put on a tournament like this? I really don't think so.

Wendy, all the Ducks played a fabulous tournament. Makes you wonder why they are battling for 10th place in the conference huh? Getzlafproved he is the top tier of players; Hiller is a top 5 goaltender, better than Luongo in my opinion(Luongo wasn't sharp today). Perry..I was on his ass after the US loss, but he sure came on strong didn't he? How could I forget Scotty Niedermeyer? Captain, cool under pressure, what a leader....top 5 defenceman ever. Koivu played well for FIN. Hell, in the gold game, the Kings players as well as the Ducks were great. Doughty really impressed me as did Jack Johnson. He carries the puck to the net so well and so strong. I would love to see Anaheim play LA in the playoffs.

One more important post I want to make and I would love Behshads take on this.

Overtime. 20 minutes of 4 on 4 rather than the NHL version of 5 mins. I really think that favoured Canada big time..More ice, less players. I thought Canada dominated the OT, with most of the play being in the American zone. I really feel if it had gone to shootout, which IMO is cheap as all Hell, the USA would no doubt have won. Miller was again outstanding. Luongo IMO wasn't really sharp. In a shootout, Miller would have seen Crosby more than once however, right Behshad?

I just don't get how anyone, especially you and Dan can't like the Kid? Does everything right, both on and off the ice. Has more hardware than most players do and he is only 22 years old. Add a gold medal to his haul now. He is a hero in Canada. I know Wyatt's next jersey will be a red Canadian Crosby number 87. I would be proud to have my kid wear that.
