Sounds pretty good actually.

A band that still has all original members and has kept true to their sound. Congrats to your boys, Hig.

because Asia kicks the Beatles ass! I'd much rather listen to any Asia album over the likes of the snooze fested Abby Road or Let it Be albums.

Maybe a little, just that I would use Abby Road as bed time music. Not to spoil the Beatles legacy, I just prefer to listen to Asia, it is a personal choice, they are a good band. The new album I can not wait to listen to it.

The debut is pure genius. Alpha is genius minus the serious input of Steve Howe.

Since the second. Steve Howe was on the second album...I think Mandy Meyer (Krokus) toured with them, though. Howe was in GTR (with Steve Hackett from Genesis), then he went "back" to the 'other' Yes in ABWH. He had a 'guest' role in Asia's Aqua album but by then John Wetton was out and John Payne was in. Asia's lineup has been almost as messed up as Yes, or Genesis.

Yeah, it's a good song from the pop side of Asia. I know I'll get this album...I just wish they would go back to the more progressive sounds on side B of the first album. To me, this type of sound almost sounds like Survivor with Steve Howe on guitar. That's not a bad thing, but it could be even better...definitely could use better lyrics.

I don't care. The first album was awesome...I love every song on it. Alpha was great too...but missing something. I guess Steve Howe did not have much input and I think that's why. Astra had some great songs, but was mediocre over all. The 'new' songs on "Live in Moscow" were great. I never got into the Payne albums...I only have Aqua...it's OK, but it sounds more like Journey then Asia to me. So, I think it's good to have them back...and I hope they live up to the quality songs on the first two albums.

Asia blows Damn Yankees away
- Better hooks
- Better muscianship
- Better vocals
- Better guitar work (yes, Howe blows away Nugent - his sound is actually melodic vs. a bunch of obnoxious noise)
- Better keyboards (non existent in DY)-
- Oh yeah, and more success....

That is just ridiculous, saying one is 'better' then the other. Besides, saying Steve Howe is a 'melodic' guitarist ends your credibility. He is a classical guitarist with interest in rock music. No different then Steve Smith being a Jazz drummer in a rock band in Journey. Also, Tommy does plenty of guitar in DY, so DY has TWO guitarists.

Two guitarists, three vocalsts...and yet you give Asia the nod in both of those, and musicianship. Don't think so.

'Hits' have nothing to do with how good they are.

It's a toss up...and it comes down to opinion.

Yea, I get accused of being a Dennis lover all the time. Just ask Froy, Toph, or Higgy. Dennis ain't in Sir Paul's league either.

Never got the McCartney love thing ....he was the 3rd best Beatle after Harrison and Lennon, when someone does songs like the Frog Chorus and Mull Of Kintyre he goes down in my books ........ as for the debut Asia album, I agree with Monker probably in the top 5 albums ever, every song is class and although I love Tommy and Damn Yankees they have nothing that comes close to beating that release .....the Asia sound on the debut CD was so far ahead of its time in sound and production ... a masterpiece.
