Interesting selection...I like it better than "The Final Countdown".

same here.
Better songs. More guitars. And not "overproduced" like TFC. Raw , heavy Rock&Roll. I Think even their debut album was better than TFC.

The debut still had a touch of their progressive roots, which I also like, although I don't think the songwriting was quite as good.

Is the internet amazing or what. I found a label for one my first cassettes. It was from Ktel and I wore it out, fast forwarding, then rewinding to play Pat Benatar and Kiss over and over again.

SIDE ONE

Upside Down - Diana Ross
Funkytown - T Lipps
Could Have Loved You For a Long Time - The Spinners
Let's Get Serious - Jermaine Jackson
I Wanna Be Your Lover - Prince
The Empire Strikes Back Medley - Meco
I Was Made For Loving You - KISS
You Better Run - Pat Benatar

SIDE TWO

Steal Away - Robbie Dupree
Tired of Toein' the Line' - Rocky Burnette
Let Me Love You Tonight - Pure Prairie League
Do That To Me One More Time - Captain and Tennille
Lost in Love - Air Supply
Take A Little Rhythm - Ali Thomson
Into The Night - Benny Mardones

very true. That's why I like "Start From The Dark " a lot. Great songwritting , but more prog/hardrock than their TFC-stuff.

Another cassette I wore out was "Odyssey" by Malmsteen. All 12 tracks are great if you ask me.

Absolutely. Many Malmsteen fans and Malmsteen himself, for that matter, don't care as much for it. They consider it too commercial. I don't see that it's any more so than most of his other stuff. There are some kick-ass tunes on that album, especially rising force. Even the tracks that aren't so "metal" like "Dreaming (Tell Me)" are awesome.

I gotta hook you up with some Europe tunes. You'll be amazed how good they are , bro.
Ask Danilow, who saw them live few years ago. Solid band with one of the best songwritters ( tempest) and most underrated guitar players (norum)

I wore out ROR in my boat. I'm sure I bought at least 3 cassettes. The sun, beer and suntan lotion and god only knows what didn't make for a good life expectancy for tapes back then.

Criticizing Yngwie for repetitiveness is fair. However, you can't undercut what he did for the guitar. I mean really, if Hendrix's career had spanned over 20 years, do you think he would have broken into jazz and fusion? No, the guy woulda been cranking a Marshall through a FuzzFace, playing pentatonics on a Strat, and writing good blues-rock. Doesn't mean what he did wasn't incredible, innovative, and influential.
