So styx is a cover band also then? With Larry singing "Come Sail Away", "Lady", "Grand Illusion", and "Suite Madam Blue" and many many more songs.

I was being sarcastic. Actually this guitarist/vocalist sounds pretty good doing Tommy's songs.
But...
Current Styx= 2 members from classic years and sometimes 3. Drummer with band 14 years and played with Styx when 4/5's of classic lineup
DDY=1 member from classic years and only member to be a part of Styx
Take your choice on who might be more of a cover band.

Just saying you accuse the actual band styx of being a cover band but then when dennis plays the same stuff you don't. Dennis has been in a cover band for the past 10 years you just don't accuse him of doing so

When Dennis calls himself Styx he will then be a cover band..
Until then he is Dennis DeYoung and the music of Styx

Fair enough.
He is not a cover band.
But he is a guy doing covers then.
Based on that so is Paul McCartney and John Fogerty
No no no.Just Dennis.
Saint John wrote:Holy shit ... Tommy Shaw wishes he could still sound like that! Blue Collar Man sounded amazing and there are notes in Renegade he doesn't even try to hit anymore. Great band. I'd rather see them than Styx ... especially when you factor in price. They seem to have more drive than Styx and that little something extra in their sound. But I am going to see Styx in Omaha this summer with Kansas and Foreigner. I'll report back with a full review.
PS The concert is free.
