They could have put this song on Kilroy and it would have fit right in. After hearing it a few more times i'm starting to like it a little more.

Yeah probably, just kinda sounds like one of those songs that isn't even good enough to be even considered on an album, not even filler material.

Don't ya think you should just be happy that they are at least coming out with new material? I know i am.

I would of been happy if it was actually a good song, this song should not be released. It is even worse than "Just Be"

Insanity. I'm as big a fan of the post-1999 Styx as anyone (even created an international crisis violating the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative at the US/Canadian border to see them on New Years Eve 2009 in Canada) That said, to state that "Just Be" is better than anything on 100 Years From Now, is a simple implicit admission that you'll spare no effort to bash DeYoung and compliment post-1999 Styx. All logic is against you here. Is music subjective? Yes. But, you're clearly making outlandish statements to stir shit up. Don't say "oh but froy does it!" because we're all aware that froy does it. Be the better man. Don't stoop to his level to attack DeYoung.

The harmonies in "Just Be" are well done, too. They don't improve the song at all. A bad song is a bad song no matter how good the musicianship is.

"Just Be" is crap (my opinion, if you like it, great ... it never grew on me and gets worse to my eaers). 100 Years has more classic Styx moments than Styx had even with Cyclorama. A song like "Rain" may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it sounds like what Styx used to do. "Breathe Again" could be a Styx song as well. These Are The Times" and "Waiting for Our Time" are about as close as Styx has come to classic Styx outside of BNW's "Everything Is Cool" in a long time. "Rubicon" trounces most of that and is (my opinion) the best Styx-related song really in quite some time. Is everything on 100 Years "the best ever"? No. But I'd rather take more albums of songs like the ones on 100 Years than anything resembling "Just Be". I like Tommy in and out of Styx, but he's written and released much, much better stuff. Cyclorama is a good album, but doesn't hold up as well for me 7 years on, and is hit or miss. It doesn't sound like the Styx of old (which I didn't need, but just saying). Dennis went for more of that classic vibe/nostalgia, and captured a great deal of it.

I feel no need to kiss the ass of either Styx or Dennis at this point. I'm just going to be honest about how I see things. I don't give a shit if they or anyone else likes it.

You're trolling now. You like Styx. There are people on this earth that would rather hear a jackhammer two inches from their ears than listen to Styx. Music is subjective.
