I like P08. Probably 2nd fav would be Cyclorama. Good balance and chemistry on that album. Grand Illusion too

The one I like the least is half of Cornetstone although half is Styx at their best. Killroy has some pretty weak tracks with the exception of Cold War and HMP. Title track on Brave New World is great but i never really got into that album it just doesn't feel like a band effort

Coming from a keyboard player, that's surprising...
Listen to the stuff he does in Kiss Your Ass Goodbye during the break. Holy crap.
The guy is an amazing keyboard player. Not the vocalist Dennis is, but then who is?

I like all their albums, even Kilroy, though Roboto sucks. I'd have to go with Crystal Ball, Grand Illusion, and Cyclorama, not necessarily in that order. Glen's stuff on Edge is also right up there, though I can't say I love that entire record.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

For me it's 'The Grand Illusion'. It's the one Styx album I can honestly say compares track-for-track with the best of any other 70s rock act. It was the first album I bought with my own money, and to this day I think it is brilliant.

Next in line, 'Paradise Theatre'!

I just find that Styx at times lacked a proper production on some of their albums

I don't agree. Perry's been sitting on his butt for 14 years. I saw Arnel with Journey the last tour and was blown away. The guy is seriously a great singer.

Still a little tentative here, but this is a legit thread, no question, tho' it has been addressed before over and over and over here.

I am with Yogi. Equinox. It has a rawness, a power, a beginning of the potential this band would have with later recordings. It is packed with some great, unmatched songs, IMO.

GI and POE are certainly in the mix for me (especially POE), but Equinox is just the best in my book. I listen to it more than any other Styx CD.

If Tommy Had have been on Equinox think of how awesome that would have been. Dennis' voice at it's best on that record. Crystal Ball gets some shit thrown at it here but really it has some of the best loved Styx songs. Turn me on after Jy's rock part and when Dennis comes in towards the end is magical. Jennifer is awesome too

Equinox would have never been made had Tommy been in the band. This album was Dennis's baby and IMO by far their best piece of work.

I have always felt the same way about Journey's Infinity album. By far my favorite Journey album.

As Bugsy stated their is an edge to both albums that was lost with commercial success.

From the album cover to the final note of Suite Madame Blue Equinox is a masterpiece!!!

just because Dennis sings most of the leads on the album doesn't make it his. It was a band effort
