For me it was "borrowing" the arch allies cd from my mom when i was 15 cause she had it on almost everyday while taking me to school. I kept wondering who is this awesome band? I found out quickly enough. Eight years later i'am proud to say that iam a die hard styx fan who own's every cd/ almost every vinyl and pretty much every bootleg you can find on the net.

First was "Lady". Liked it. Never heard them again.
In 1977 a friend had an extra ticket for Styx at the Mercer Arena in Seattle. Pretty small. I liked Lady from a few years prior and had just started hearing "Come Sail Away" - said "Sure, I'll go". It was the Grand Illusion tour. From there, I was hooked. Went out and bought all their records in the next few weeks. Played the hell out of Grand Illusion.
I remember at one point in the show, Dennis had on a musketeer hat and was waving a sword around saying "I wonder what the King is doing tonight" or something like that. They must've played Born for Adventure after that . I don't recall as I didn't know their tunes. It was a really great show.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

In 1974 My Best friend's older brother had Styx 1, Styx 2, Serpent and Man of Miracles. Nobody in California it seemed knew who they were except us. Then Lady became a hit and when Equinox came out they started to get some airplay. I remember hearing Lady and Lorelei a lot on the rock stations here in 1975/76.
I have seen every tour from 1975 through the last one with Dennis in 1997. Hard to say which one was the best, but Return to Paradise in 1996 was my favorite tour because I never thought I'd see Dennis and Tommy on stage together again.

One of my first memories of Styx was buying the 45 of Come Sail Away and listening to it over and over. Then a new radio station started and they played the Album version of the song and it had another verse! I was so excited I went out the same day and bought the album and listened to it until I wore it out!
