I agree with Brywool 100%.
Record them if you want...just don't promote them to me...a Styx fan since 1975.
Don't bother even giving me the new recordings for free. I won't play them. Period.

It is what it is, and it gives Styx flexibility with some of these tunes now to put them out there for other purposes (although what commerical really wants "Sing for the Day"? lol).

7 songs? That is it?
Also, yet another product which pretends the band didn't release anything of substance post 1978. 1000 copies sold to the die hards...
Next!

Ill buy a new album with Gowen writing his own songs like on Cyclo, but I have no interest in him recording Dennis' songs. NONE.
That is just plain wrong.

Dennis is credited with songwriting on some of those tunes. So while Styx may have recorded them, all writing royalties go to Dennis, not Styx. Styx re-recording them is no different than if I went in the studio and recorded, say, CSA and paid the right royalties on it. Dennis still profits.

I'm not even a "NO Dennis, NO Styx" fan. I LIKE the new band. But who wants to buy more of what they already own?????? If this is a move for the diehard fan, got news for ya. They already have these songs in their original form.
If this is coming from their management as something they need to do, then they need to look into new management.

I did NOT buy Perry's remastered stuff. Nor the Journey stuff. Everything there, I already had. Except for the new tracks on the Perry album. You couldn't download the bonus stuff from Itunes either, which was super lame of the record company. I've already got "Oh Sherrie" on the original album and on the Greatest Hits +5. Why would I buy it yet again? They really missed the boat by not letting fans by the bonus tracks.
I DID buy a few Beatles remasters, but they're the friggin' Beatles!
oh and thanks for the Av comment on said Beatles.
